About the Opportunity

With decades of successful delivery, Amentum provide engineering, technical and professional services through an established Professional Services framework with EDF, a long-term partnership supporting the safe operation, life extension and performance of the UK’s existing and developing nuclear fleet.

As a Project Manager, you’ll work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team delivering a diverse portfolio of projects, drawing on and further developing Amentum’s deep nuclear expertise.

This is an opportunity to develop your project management experience while contributing to a strategically important framework at the heart of the UK nuclear industry.

You will work closely with clients, Account Leads, Project Managers and specialist functions to establish delivery strategies, coordinate project teams, manage risks and dependencies, and maintain effective control of project performance.

Alongside direct project delivery, you will contribute to wider portfolio coordination and governance, providing clear reporting and insight to support effective decision-making.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing projects and Task Orders through the project lifecycle, from definition and planning through delivery, acceptance and close-out.

  • Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, budgets and appropriate project controls.

  • Monitoring cost, schedule, quality and delivery performance and taking action where performance moves away from plan.

  • Identifying and managing project risks, opportunities, issues, dependencies and changes.

  • Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and functional support to achieve agreed outcomes.

  • Maintaining good relationships with clients and stakeholders and ensuring requirements are clearly understood and communicated.

  • Managing project commercial considerations, including variations, changes, forecasting and financial performance.

  • Providing accurate and timely progress, financial, risk and governance reporting.

  • Supporting effective allocation and balancing of resources across projects.

  • Delivery of project and portfolio reviews and providing delivery insight to senior stakeholders.

  • Promoting consistent use of agreed project management methods, tools and standards.

  • Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with relevant safety, quality, company and client requirements.

Here's What You'll Need

We are looking for someone who can combine structured project management with a practical, collaborative approach to delivery.

  • You will ideally bring:

  • A relevant STEM degree or equivalent demonstrable experience.

  • Demonstrable project management or project delivery experience.

  • Experience of managing projects across multiple stages of the project lifecycle.

  • Planning, organisation and project control skills.

  • Experience of managing budgets, schedules, risks, changes and project reporting.

  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of contractual and financial project drivers.

  • The ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and balance competing priorities.

  • Communication and stakeholder-management skills.

  • An analytical approach with strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.

  • Competence with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • A formal project management qualification such as APM PMQ or equivalent would be advantageous.

  • Experience within the nuclear sector, power generation or another highly regulated environment would also be beneficial, as would experience of engineering, procurement, construction, installation or commissioning projects.

Successful Project Managers within our team demonstrate:

  • Ownership and accountability for delivery.

  • Effective leadership and teamwork.

  • Commercial awareness.

  • Clear and confident communication.

  • Sound judgement and decision-making.

  • Good organisational and analytical skills.

  • The ability to anticipate problems and develop practical solutions.

  • Integrity, reliability and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

  • A client-focused approach and the ability to build effective working relationships.
