Amentum is seeking a Property Technician to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Property Technician assists with a variety of warehousing and demilitarization duties involving stock movement, inventory, and disassembly/destruction of munitions within controlled environments.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. ​

Typical Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) / Government Furnished Property (GFP) and material are properly tracked, documented, and identified in the appropriate systems of record.

  • Ensure all Amentum Corporate Property is properly tracked, documented, and identified in MAXIMO.

  • Actively participate in and/or lead cyclic inventories of GFE/GFP/Corporate property and material as directed by the Amentum HWAD Property Manager.

  • Control official facility data records, including DD Form 1354, Transfer and Acceptance of Military Real Property, records of maintenance and repair accomplished by subcontract or Amentum personnel, maps and drawings, In-Grants, and Out-Grants; Including a Property Plan for management and inventory accountability of all buildings, housing, structures, utilities and land.

  • Screen all real property requirements for justification of need. Review on-site property to determine if the requirement can be filled and recommend facility. Assist in further justification in the event real property must be modified or altered to meet needs.

  • Assist the Engineering Division in preparing real property packages for construction, modification or alteration. Prepare appropriate documentation for real property on record. Assist Engineering and Environmental staff in preparation of submissions to Nevada Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA) and State Historical Preservation Office (SHPO). Responsible for reporting potential real environmental concerns to the Environmental Service.

  • Develop an inventory plan to ensure assigned personnel have sufficient information to conduct a detailed inventory of all real property according to schedule. Investigate discrepancies in inventory records and correct the records. Submit information for semi-annual inventory update to ACO Staff and Rock Island.

  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of the real property records and data for infrastructure on the General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS). Maintain the automated real property records in MAXIMO. Post records with changes, including facility construction, leased and permitted facilities, structures, utilities, land, disposals, and capital improvements and/or decreases, usage category, and status. Prepare documentation to excess real property. Ensure a complete audit trail until the property is demolished or removed from HWAD, and is dropped from accountability.

  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • At least eighteen (18) months experience in retail industrial supply or purchasing functions or equivalent.

  • Experience in developing and maintaining property and real property inventories. 

  • Good writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to operate a computerized based terminal.

  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.

  • Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.

  • Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner. Perform safety sensitive duties.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by the Master Training Plan.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license and clean driving record. 

  • Must also be able to obtain a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.

  • Must be a United States or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) site access.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance. ​

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year experience in office computer programs, i.e. Microsoft Office, MAXIMO, etc. Bookkeeping or Accounting experience is desirable. Knowledge of ELMS (Enterprise Logistics Management System), GFEBS (General Funds Enterprise Business System), PIEE (Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment), preferred.                  

SAFETY SENSITIVE

This position is designated as non-safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by the Hawthorne Army Depot Commander and HWAD O&M contract requirements.

Compensation:

The starting hourly rate for this position is $28.47 - $34.21 (Per the CBA). Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
