Business Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

Purpose of the Classification:

Performs and supervises quality control field inspections of Amentum and Subcontractors work performed and quality assurance audits and reviews of construction processes and documentation.  Documents, reports, and follows-through on the resulting discrepancies or corrective and preventive action requests.

Principal Responsibilities of the Classification:

Performs the following responsibilities, but is not limited to:

  • Follows the Quality Plan and procedures responsibilities and requirements.
     
  • Completes field inspections, document reviews, and audits required by the project plans and schedule on Facilities Contract projects

  • Documents, reports, follows-through on results of field inspections and audits.

  • Identifies discrepancies, Corrective Action Request (CAR) and Preventive Action Request (PAR) trends to the QA Manager.

  • Assists CAR/PAR respondents with complete, timely responses and major CAR root cause analysis.

  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively resolve potential inspection/audit and CAR/PAR conflicts.

  • Provides support for AMENTUM activities required for ISO certification and OSHA evaluation.

  • Assists AMENTUM customer feedback senders when assigned by the QM or warranted.

  • Reviews AMENTUM procedures, designs, contracts, and Johnson Space Center requirements for quality. 

  • Participates in quality-related training courses assigned by the Quality Manager.

  • Conducts business in an ethical manner and demonstrates a commitment to quality and excellence.

  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and other practices set forth by upper management directives.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Education Required:

High School diploma or GED required with some higher education preferred.  Professional Quality-related course completion or certification preferred, such as. American Society for Quality certification, ISO auditor training certification, American Welding Society certification, or American Society for Nondestructive Testing certification.

Experience Required:

Two (2) years Quality Control Inspector, Quality Assurance Auditor, or Quality Specialist employment experience within the past five (5) years is preferred. 

Special Knowledge/Skills Required:

Two (2) years in Quality Control and Quality Assurance field activities involving operations, maintenance, construction, property/material procurement and receiving, safety and environmental practices, and customer requirements.

Knowledge of various computer programs required (ex: Word, Excel, etc.) and working experience with spreadsheets. Knowledge of interpreting quality requirements within procedures, designs, contracts, ISO, OSHA, and industry standards. Excellent oral and written communications. Effective conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.

100,000
