Amentum is looking for a Quality Manager to join our #pecan team!

Purpose and Scope:
The Quality Manager plans and directs activities concerned with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards. Quality assurance and quality control are important aspects to this job family.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plans, conducts and directs research and/or development work on complex quality projects necessitating the origination and application of new and unique approaches.
  • Possesses and applies an advanced knowledge to the completion of projects.
  • Ensures the product is designed, procured, and installed in accordance with customer and company quality requirements and within established budgets.
  • Makes frequent decisions using principles and professional independent judgment.
  • Provides technical inspiration, leadership, and consultation to professional co-workers.
  • Provides leadership for quality assurance and quality control support on assigned program(s) and/or areas to ensure that the product is designed, procured, and installed in accordance with customer and company quality requirements.
  • Provides leadership for new systems, development, proposals, implementation, procedures, and any related quality activity.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and plans methods of approach and organizes means to achieve solution of complex technical problems.
  • Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity. Reviews project process and evaluate results.
  • Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
  • May specialize in particular area of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, inventory control, product reliability, research and development, and administrative application.
  • Provides technical consultation to lower level engineers, technicians, and inspectors.
  • Acts as liaison with outside suppliers in establishing or modifying specifications for purchased items.
  • Devises and applies testing procedures for parts or sub-assemblies received from outside vendors.
  • Participates in the development, maintenance, and refinement of internal quality control and reliability programs.
  • Recommends corrective action to quality problems.


Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
 

Education: Bachelors degree in engineering or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Experience: 5+ years experience in area of specialization. Lead Auditor/Auditor Certificate desired. Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position may require travel.

Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.

Compensation Details:

$75,000 to $125,000

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
