Purpose and Impact:

Amentum is seeking a dedicated detail-oriented Range Maintenance Technician with a strong commitment to maintenance, safety, and customer satisfaction. Experienced with organized and dynamic environments in support of providing day-to-day repairs for all facilities designated under areas of range operations in support of an O&M contract.


Work Schedule:

Typical support duties are M-F from 06:30 to 3:30. To include occasional evenings and weekends in support of the program’s mission.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment, ensuring workplace safety remains the highest priority at all times.
  • Comply with all site-specific policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Adhere to all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality Assurance (QA) policies, procedures, requirements, and performance objectives.
  • Follow established safety range cleaning procedures, conduct safety reviews, and walk throughs of all areas of operation aligned with assigned duties.
  • Perform maintenance and upkeep of ranges, range equipment, and facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
  • Assist with maintaining all live fire facilities and equipment. To include: battery operated, pneumatic systems, and static steel.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting system issues with the O&M utilities team.
  • Assists in the development testing concepts.
  • Ensures all range equipment and range consumable materials are stocked and on-hand in each range location.
  • Follow schedules and tasks to detail directed by the Facilities Manager. To include other duties assigned.

 

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

  • Demonstrates ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis while performing assigned duties.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods of 8–10 hours per shift.
  • Able to perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, twisting, and carrying materials as required.
  • Maintain fitness for duty and the ability to safely perform all assigned responsibilities.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with the flexibility to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing demands, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Perform jobs/tasks in outside unconditioned environment working in the extreme hot and humid weather. Additionally, at times, extreme cold.
  • Responsible for maintaining and cleaning government issued items and property.
  • Ability to provide a detailed purchase request for range consumables and/or required maintenance replacement items.
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Skilled in identifying issues, gathering and evaluating relevant information, establishing facts, and drawing sound conclusions.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to maintaining high performance standards and achieving organizational goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify challenges, develop effective solutions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Minimum Requirements (Clearance Level, Education, Certifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in range maintenance or a related field.
  • Possess or obtain a 24-hour HAZWOPER certification, with completion of the required 8-hour annual refresher training.
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with the requirements of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
  • Ability to provide and maintain all required certifications and credentials.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, including online training platforms, timekeeping systems, and email communication.
  • Valid driver's license issued by the applicant's state of residence required.
  • Able to obtain and maintain forklift certification.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • CDL.
  • Heavy equipment experience/ certifications (frontend loader, skid steer, and/or back hoe)  

       

Compensation Details:

$31.00-$35.00
