Description of Duties:

The Release Train Engineer Internship supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

• Participate in all Scrum ceremonies:
  • Including Daily Scrum (stand-up), Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective meetings.
• Assist with backlog refinement:
  • Help break down user stories, estimate effort, and prioritize tasks.
• Work on tasks within a sprint:
  • Contribute to development, testing, documentation, or design tasks as assigned by the team.
• Contribute to documentation:
  • Help create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, and other relevant documentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts:
  • Contribute to discussions and initiatives aimed at improving the team's processes and performance.

Basic Requirements:

• Must have 1, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
  • May be reduced with completion of advanced education
• Must be currently pursuing, or recently completed, a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Must have a basic understanding of Agile principles and methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Must have, or obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

• Have experience working with geographically separated project teams
• Have a basic understanding of Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile frameworks is a plus.

This position is expected to pay $20.67/hr; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
