The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

Strategically lead a a team of hardware and software engineers toward the completion of design engineering associated with critical Ground Support Equipment (GSE) in support of manned flight for the Space Launch System program.

Responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and controlling the allocated resources of Electrical Engineering Design
and Systems functions. 


Must be able to:
* Plan, lead, organize, and control allocated resources for the Electrical Design Engineering department which is responsible for design, development, analysis, troubleshooting, testing, and implementation of GSE for flight hardware and facilities at Kennedy Space Center.
* Supervise Group Managers and working-level personnel across two departments including Electrical Systems, Engineering Development (EDL) & KGCS Hardware and Software.
* Create and adjust processes in support of design completion, fabrication, test and checkout of ground support equipment
* Review and approve electrical engineering design output.
* Manage resources effectively within budgetary and time constraints, and contributes to the overall success of the
company by providing a motivated and productive staff.
* Use engineering knowledge and experience to guide and mentor teams of electrical engineers.
* Use program and project management experience to develop success oriented schedule and delegate labor resources in support design completion of EGSE design.
*Evaluate results, employee performance, and organizational success while continuously improving upon past precedence.
* Manage internal department schedules and deliverables within strict project time constraints.
* Effectively communicate job expectations
* Mentor and inspire members of the team
* Uphold and foster the high level of performance, integrity, ownership, and accountability that the Electrical Design team is known for.

Skills/Qualifications : 
* BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or other applicable engineering discipline from an accredited university plus Ten (10) years or more of progressive and relevant experience.  At least five (5) years of successfully managing people


* Demonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by prior managerial / supervisory and/or technical leadership
   experience.
* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
* Thorough knowledge of industry standards and regulatory codes such as but not limited to NEC, NFPA, IEEE is
   required.
* Thorough knowledge of KSC/NASA design standards and procedures is highly desired.
* Knowledge of Arc Flash analysis and mitigation implementation is highly desired.
* Working knowledge and experience with engineering tools such as but not limited to ProE, AutoCAD, Microstation,   Windchill, ETAP, Maximo, and Solumina is highly desired.
* Working knowledge and experience with KSC ground systems, such as Mobile Launcher, Crawler Transporter, Pad Structures, etc. is highly desired.
* Ability to successfully plan personnel resources (WYE) and budget other direct costs (ODC) across multiple functional disciplines.
* Must be well organized, flexible, and capable of effectively prioritizing multidisciplinary projects.
* Excellent technical writing, communication, presentation and customer interface skills required.
* Capability to manage resources effectively within schedule and budgetary constraints.
* Ability to lead and provide direction to employees regarding established safety, quality, and performance protocols.
* Proven ability to be able to foster a motivated and productive staff with a passion for space flight.
* Possess interpersonal, communication, and technical skills to guide the department to develop and maintain good  customer relationships
* Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary.

       

Compensation Details:

130,000-155,000
