Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a full time position in the role of – Maintenance Supervisor at their Alice Springs office.

The Maintenance Supervisor leads the delivery of responsive and preventative maintenance services to ensure housing and facility assets remain safe, functional, and compliant with contractual and regulatory requirements. The role is responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, coordinating subcontractors, and optimizing labor, materials, and financial resources to achieve service excellence.

With a strong focus on safety, operational reliability, and customer service, the Maintenance Supervisor manages daily priorities, responds to critical incidents, and drives continuous improvement across all maintenance activities. This position holds delegated budgetary responsibility, overseeing maintenance expenditure, monitoring cost performance, and ensuring works are delivered efficiently. The role identifies cost saving opportunities and supports forecasting activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Personnel supervision and maintenance planning and undertake detailed and complex fault finding as required.
  • Inspecting tasks and providing assistance to personnel where required.
  • Provide supervisory leadership to a designated team, including the coordination of timesheets, recommending and coordinating leave and training plans, and addressing minor matters pertaining to workplace discipline and standards.
  • Providing technical information as required.
  • Ensuring on a regular basis all work orders are completed and entered correctly into the computerized system.
  • Providing detailed training & mentoring to others where suitable and appropriate.
  • Advise Operations/Program Manager of localized issues relating to safety, security, official visitors and conduct related matters as appropriate.
  • Aiding in the development of and review of project briefs and statements of work as required.
  • Aiding in the management of Operations and Maintenance manuals and HLS documentation.
  • Undertaking investigations and providing associated recommendations and reports.
  • Performing administrative tasks as required using computerized systems.
  • Prioritising work in line with contract requirements, mission needs and customer requests.
  • Identifying and implementing innovative, effective and efficient methods of undertaking work as approved by the Operations/Program Manager.
  • Professionally manage subcontractors and other personnel as required.
  • Manage and review the purchase of materials and items as required.
  • Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports/metrics to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Facilitate after hours call outs.
  • Ensure operational tasks are undertaken in a manner that is consistent with supporting the mission.

QUALIFICATIONS  

Minimum Essential

  • Trade qualification in relevant building trade or Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management).
  • Experience in SAP.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience and understanding of Facilities Maintenance and operations, resource planning and personnel management.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience and understanding of Maintenance and operations, resource planning and personnel management.
  • Commitment to self-improvement with the focus on qualifications / skills update and contemporary industry practices.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to lead and manage large teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake professional investigations and reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan work and schedule projects and resources.
  • Certificate IV in Leadership and Management (or equivalent).
  • The ability to gain an understanding and appreciation across all trade areas such as electrical distribution, HVAC, plumbing etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to act within the individual IT environment (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Demonstrated time management, including an ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example and set standards for others to follow and manage a team with exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as autonomously.
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement EH&S procedures.
  • Demonstrated customer focus.

TICKETS AND LICENCES

Minimum Essential

  • Ability to obtain a NV1 Security Clearance
  • White Card, Working at heights, Skid Steer,
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Trade Licences: applicable for actual trade

EXPERIENCE – Minimum Essential

7-10 years total industry experience with a trade qualification. Demonstrated 3-5 years experience working in maintenance, planning, supervising and scheduling works.

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS

The Maintenance Supervisor combines an office-based environment with regular visits to properties throughout Alice Springs. Alice Springs has cold winters and hot summers so a variety of weather conditions can be experienced at the properties.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT

It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require a Negative Vetting (NV1) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian).

STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS

All personnel assigned shall be:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to fluently read, write and speak English

EHS REQUIREMENT

All Amentum personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health and safety requirements. While Amentum is responsible for providing a safe workplace and is responsible for ensuring compliance with requirements of the EHS Handbook, each person is responsible for:

  • Completing work tasks in a safe manner
  • Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or PMO/EHS Manager
  • Continuous adherence to the environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the EHS Handbook during the performance of their work
  • Red-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to “STOP WORK” if a job is unsafe or possess a danger to the environment

Compensation Details:

AUS: $145000 - $155000 AUD
