PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Facilities Operations Manager will serve as the key member of the OASIS Operations and Maintenance Team.  The position is responsible for the effective oversight and management of the equipment, resources, processes and procedures key to the facilities operations

This position reports directly to Operations and Maintenance Functional Area Manager (FAM) and customer POC's from time to time and will work closely with the O&M Maintenance Manager to plan and execute complex site activities as safely and efficiently as possible. Communication and consultation with multiple site departments is essential to ensure industry best practices and safe operation of site infrastructure as well as ensuring compliance with multiple regulatory bodies.

This a Monday-Friday 40hr per week role with flexible start/finish times.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the scheduling, resourcing administration and supervision of people, processes and procedures
  • Manage operational shift manning to ensure appropriate personnel are available and rostered to maintain the SOW requirements for coverage, including long-term planning
  • Identify, propose, contribute to and lead the development of processes and quality improvements relevant to facilities operations
  • Lead, manage, mentor and develop the operations shift crews and structures
  • Lead and manage all actions necessary to ensure the consistent and regular capture, documentation, regular review and analyses of operation date metrics
  • Lead and manage ongoing change within the department
  • Compile required reports for Amentum Senior management and customer POC's.
  • Responsible for directing the Contractor’s utilities, buildings, and grounds, managing the daily operations and maintenance activities
  • Maintain health and safety within the workplace by promoting safety awareness initiatives, discussions and trainings, encouraging a safety focused culture and participating and reviewing risk assessments for those under their supervision.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Essential

  • Year 12 completion
  • 5 years management experience w/ 7 years functional experience in a similar role/environment
  • Field:  Relevant or related discipline

Desirable

  • Industry recognized certification in Program and/or Project Management of Facility Management
  • Accredited leadership/Management qualifications
  • Equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Australian Citizen

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS

Minimum Essential

  • 5 years management experience, 7 years functional experience
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with varied stakeholders
  • Experience with MS Officer operating system, MAXIMO, CMMS, and AutoCAD

WORK ENVIRONMENT PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND MENTAL DEMANDS

  • The position is desk based and sedentary in nature, the ability to lift items up to 5kgs may be required occasionally.
  • Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.
  • Particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT

It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will require NV1 clearance with the intent to apply for a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV)

STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS

All personnel assigned shall be:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to fluently read, write and speak English

EHS REQUIREMENT

All Amentum personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health and safety requirements. While Amentum is responsible for providing a safe workplace and is responsible for ensuring compliance with requirements of the EHS Handbook, each person is responsible for:

  • Completing work tasks in a safe manner
  • Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or PMO/EHS Manager
  • Continuous adherence to the environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the EHS Handbook during the performance of their work
  • Red-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to “STOP WORK” if a job is unsafe or possess a danger to the environment
