Role Title: Systems Engineer 

Role Description:
Systems Engineer is accountable to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for governance, design assurance and oversight of the existing Support System (including Facilities and ICT infrastructure).   
 

Tasks include: 

  • Support the governance, design assurance and oversight of the existing Support System and (including Facilities and ICT infrastructure). 
  • Provide support to client input to the technical design and solution of the Support System IPT to ensure the design and solution meets the technical and support requirements for assigned systems. 
  • Support the Client project’s V&V program, ensuring the client satisfies its contractual obligations and Support Systems designs (and other areas of assigned product responsibility) are adequately
  •  verified to meet functional and performance requirements. 
  • Ensure project Support System designs satisfy the client’s allocated performance and functional baseline requirements.
  • Coordinate across IPTs, with engineering leads and SMEs, to create a shared technical vision and to positively influence the Support System technical solution. 
  • Identify technical stakeholders and liaise with them to determine needs, rationale and objectives, and use such insights to collaboratively agree mutually acceptable technical outcomes.
  • Perform status review of key Support System IPT activities against the approved schedule
  • Support the Project Systems Team as required in the development of the technical scope of tasks pertinent to the Support System in collaboration relevant business areas.
  • Support technical performance and technical risk identification and mitigation by providing advice that informs design reviews and technical program planning. 
  • Support the management of Support Systems IPT product related Engineering Change Proposals
  • Support the development and maintenance of the V&V and related plans and associated procedures for assigned products.
  • Governance and Technical Support of existing project Support systems. Understanding of subsystem integration to main system.
  • Understanding of transition related activities between the relevant contracts.
  • Provision of Systems Engineering assistance to the Project Support System Lead and other IPT Leads including Requirements, Design, V&V, Integration and Test.

Essential Requirements:

  • Engineering qualifications 
  • Experience relevant to the job/role description above 
  • Demonstrate understanding of engineering methods, design and development 
  • Ability to Negotiate with internal and external stakeholders in a way that achieves project outcomes while maintaining key relationships. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to contribute and work in a cross-functional team. 

Desirable Requirements:

  • Knowledge with experience in systems engineering, Validation and Verification, Test and Integration, Risk Management
  • Familiarisation with working within Acquisition and Support contracts.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills in order to liaise with contracted suppliers, clients and key business areas 
  • Engineering Management Experience
  • Project Management Experience

Required Security Clearance Level: NV1 

Location: Adelaide, SA

Hours: 80 hours per fortnight
