We have an exciting opportunity for a
Systems Engineer to join the team with Intuitive Machines, a teammate company.
The
Systems Engineer will:
- Develop and model concepts.
- Work on requirements definition, flow-down, assessment and verification.
- Work on the development of concept of operations, software Verification and Validation (V&V) plans.
- Work with team members to identify risks, develop risk statements and responses.
- Review documentation for major milestone reviews such as TRR, CDR, SAR, etc.
- Review Hazard Analyses.
- Attend project meetings and provide meeting summaries to technical leads.
- Work on trade studies and participate in stakeholder reviews.
- Work in a team environment.
- Report to the team lead to provide status on progress, issues and requests for support.
- Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer, other NASA support contractors and the HLS commercial partners.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requisition Qualifications:This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Experience in technology demonstrations and early program concept development and formulation.
- Experience with requirements development, design trades, development of Concept of Operations, risk analysis, and system analysis of space hardware.
- Experience creating concepts for operations of single systems as well as operations across multiple space vehicles.
- Experience with technology roadmap development and creating technology integration plans.
- Experience collecting/understanding stakeholder needs.
- Experience with interface definition for complex subsystems.
- Experience with interface definitions between multiple systems or elements of a mission.
- Experience with Test and Verification of spaceflight hardware.
- Knowledge of systems engineering principles and associated documentation.
Requisition Preferences:
- Electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering degree.
- Experience working with multiple NASA organizations and international partners.
- Experience working across NASA centers.
- Experience with hardware or software development projects.
- Familiarity with human space exploration systems (for example Orion, Commercial Crew, ISS, EMU/xEMU).
- Basic knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection for engineering products.
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification.
- Familiarity with system architecture tools such as DoDAF, TODAF, etc.

Essential Functions Work Environment Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and Machines Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
