Purpose and Scope:

Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Functional Area Manager (FAM) provides technical and administrative input for the management of AGE assigned to the PACAF GPMS program; ensures AGE departments are mission focused, have continuity and are standardized across the program, and provides subject matter expertise for planning and development of assigned and projected AGE requirements. As a member of the Program Support Office (PSO), the AGE FAM analyzes and evaluates staff recommendations and approves implementation of changes, utilizing knowledge of reports analysis and standardization, managerial processes and systems, budgetary limitations, and organizational policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assists the PSO in developing effective and efficient logistics policies and procedures, and in ensuring compliance with DOD and USAF directives.
  • Performs TDY within the Area of Operations as required by the US Air Force/Amentum taskings.
  • Coordinates quarterly with Air Force AGE Quality Assurance Evaluator to ensure quality and accountability of all assets are maintained in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Plans, develops, and implements procedures for all AGE technical work.
  • Coordinates the operation and maintenance of AGE assets to support deployment of outload taskings.
  • Functions as the primary liaison as the AGE Functional Manager between AMIC and PACAF.
  • In coordination with the PSO, plans, develops and implements procedures for all AGE equipment technical work.
  • Serves as the Program lead proponent in the overall management of AGE Departments
  • Receives, reviews and submits PWS deliverables to Operations Manager or as directed by PSO.
  • Provided inputs to PSO on planning, programming, solutions, and execution of the Contract.
  • Ensure all functional activities are carried out in accordance with FAR, USAF and Amentum standards as referenced in the PWS.
  • Identifies and coordinates specialized training requirements that must be provided through outside sources.
  • Calculates staffing needs and coordinates with HR for the timely hiring of new employees.
  • Ensures AGE departments have sufficient staffing to receive, secure and safe store, account for, inventory, deploy, maintain, reconstitute, overhaul, and dispose of assets in accordance with PWS directives.
  • Provides input for semi-annual Program Status Review (PSR) and Program Management Review (PMR) briefings to PMO.
  • Communicate new directives, changes in procedures, special taskings, etc. with site department personnel.
  • Monitors all deployment activities to include exercises and war time response in accordance with the PWS.
  • Participates in the development and review of SOPs and WIs in compliance with ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System Standard.
  • Develops, maintains, and/or analyzes achievable metrics, as necessary, for assigned requirements for constant process improvements.
  • Coordinates with Quality Control Inspectors in the identification and corrective actions of non-compliant performance.
  • Performs regularly scheduled QA audits throughout the AOR and submits reports to the Quality Management System.
  • Performs other qualified duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have ten years’ experience with AGE equipment and workshop facilities.
  • Must have five years’ experience in equipment management or AGE supervisory position and demonstrated understanding of AGE.
  • Background in mechanical, electrical, and equipment maintenance preferred.  
  • Must be able to read, understand and interpret all technical data associated with AGE assets and related equipment.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS)
  • Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office to include as a minimum Power Point, Excel and Word programs.
  • Must possess a valid home country driver’s license and ability to obtain host nation driver’s license.
  • Position will require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

  • Works in normal office environment.  
  • Light to moderate lifting as required carried out in an office environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
