Aircraft Issuer/Dispatcher 2, issues aircraft to Pilots in accordance with established procedures. Verifies required maintenance has been performed and releases aircraft safe for flight. Operates two-way communication equipment to coordinate flight-line operations. Provides technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to employees in the Organizational Maintenance Control Clerk classification.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
CLASSIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be certified to release aircraft Safe for Flight.
KNOWLEDGE:
Demonstrate a working knowledge of Maintenance Control procedures and the coordination of aircraft maintenance. Must be able to operate two-way communication equipment and speak clearly and concisely. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance records/forms and possess general knowledge of the T-6 aircraft and associated systems. Must have working knowledge of applicable maintenance / technical manuals and publications. Must possess basic computer data entry skills and be able to type a minimum of thirty-five (35) words per minute. Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate in the English language and to follow verbal and written instructions.
EDUCATION / LICENSES:
Satisfactory completion of U.S. Navy Maintenance Control Management Course for OOMA (C-555-0053) or Armed Forces aviation equivalent courses, with three (3) years of experience certifying aircraft Safe-for-Flight. Graduation from high school or GED required. Must be able to meet any Government / Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have three (3) years’ experience in military or civilian aviation maintenance control.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
Computers, computer peripheral equipment, copy machines, and labeling equipment.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Administrative duties that may require occasional kneeling, standing, stooping, and bending are required. Required lifting up to 50 lbs. Must have close vision to include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requires hearing to normal range.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily working in an office environment with minimum exposure to noise hazards. May be required to handle hazardous materials.
POTENTIAL HAZARDS:
Exposure to prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and keyboard input. Possible exposure to hazardous material as identified on Safety Data Sheets.
WORK LOCATION:
Office spaces and maintenance shop spaces. May require travel in support of detachments of unknown duration
