Amentum is immediately hiring a qualified F/A-18 O-level Logs & Records Technician in support of U.S. Navy Aviation maintenance operations at VFA-106, NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA. The Logs & Records Technician performs a variety of repetitive clerical, administrative and managerial duties with a high level of accuracy necessary to keep aircraft maintenance activities running efficiently.  The Logs & Records Tech is responsible for the management of aircraft logbooks, Aeronautical Equipment Service Records (AESR) and Aircraft Discrepancy Books (ADB) in support of Fleet Carrier Landing Practice (FCLP) and Carrier Qualifications (CQ).  The Logs & Records Tech is responsible for providing Maintenance Control with up-to-date scheduled aircraft maintenance, periodic inspections and component replacement reports required to provide safe and airworthy aircraft for scheduled operations.  All components and assemblies installed on aircraft/equipment that has an AESR, MSR, ASR, EHR, SRC Aeronautical Equipment Record shall be inventoried, configured and reported properly within aircraft logbooks and OOMA in accordance with CNAFINST 4790.  The Logs & Records Tech could perform this work up to 7 days and 40 hours a week and overtime depending on operational tempo.


Will be required to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check as well as favorable fingerprints in e-QIP.  May be required to complete SF-85/86 in e-QIP as required to maintain possession of a Common Access Card (CAC). Unfavorable background check may result in termination if determination is made you are not eligible for a CAC card.
 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Shift work required and detachments are possible.
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum four (4) years’ actual and recent organizational level aircraft maintenance experience
  • Must have Logs & Records CNATTU Course or Configuration Management equivalent (verified by Joint Service Transcript (JST))
  • Must have a valid Virginia or North Carolina (if North Carolina resident) Driver license
  • Knowledge of governing supply systems/programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines
  • Analytical ability to identify items of noncompliance, collect necessary data, establish facts, and to take corrective action based upon applicable established guidelines
  • Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned tasks
  • Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks
  • Secret Clearance Required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization (Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Should be a self-motivator and work with minimum supervision
  • Prior experience with U.S. Navy aviation experience on F/A-18 aircraft highly preferred
  • A/C Weight & Balance and Configuration Management
  • TD Compliance and Maintenance Control courses (verified in JST)
  • Support Equipment Configuration Management course (CDP 9036) (verified in JST)
