JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidate will assist Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) with implementing, command policies for ammunition handling, storage and administering to ammunition transactions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: assists command/unit G4/S4 with the development, implementation and execution of organizational level processes and procedures that comply with Marine Corps standard operating procedures for handling and storage of ammunition and assisting command/unit supported with managing Class V annual allocation. Provides technical expertise and assists unit logistics section/staff with Class V planning in support of Training Exercise Employment Plan events. In accordance with Marine Corps orders and directives for Arms Ammunition and Explosives Program the incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the handling, hazardous material certification, transport, both on federal installations and off, issuing, tracking and recording expenditures and temporary storage of Class V Ground ammo. Incumbent will be required to execute above responsibilities in a dynamic and demanding work environment with limited supervision. Therefore, incumbent must be capable of exercising independent judgment and exercising his/her responsibilities with exacting precision.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A High School diploma or GED and at least four to six (4-6+) years related experience in the handling, storage, transport, certification and management of Class V ammunition. Related experience must include working in and around military organizations. Incumbent must possess and an intimate understanding of organizational roles and responsibilities that exist between Marine Corps Base Ammunition Storage Point between and supported command and knowledge of state, local and base laws and orders for transporting ammunition in and around base; detailed knowledge of requirements for transporting Class V ammunition on both government and commercial ground transportation. Incumbent most possesses at least 4 years of experience preforming in the capacity of an ammunition Technician. Incumbent must be fluent with Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS) and other logistics automated information systems that are used to manage, control and issue ammunition and be willing to adapt to frequent changes in software as well less frequent systems/program changes. The incumbent will in the performance of their duties be required to flawlessly execute custody control, maintenance, disposal and distribution of Arms, Ammunition & Explosives. Applicants will be screened in accordance with AA&E Screening Package.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Candidates must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. Must possess well developed communication skills; ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely, develop and present briefs for senior military audience and produce military staff level correspondence. Incumbent must be capable of multitasking; working several complex and diverse tasks with simultaneous, or near simultaneous deadlines to meet established standards for performance and
products. Incumbent must possess highly refined organizational and administration skills. Incumbent must be reliable, punctual, trustworthy and exceptionally conscientious. Must be team oriented, and have the ability to positively interact with diverse groups of people to achieve common objectives.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
The incumbent must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense secret clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or facilities.
