Primary Responsibilities: The Architect will provide professional architectural services in support throughout the project programming process, including design, documentation, and construction for new construction, renovations, and maintenance of facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and Air Force regulations. Possess strong technical knowledge, coordination capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, contractors, and government personnel.
Essential Functions: • Works with government clients and regulatory agencies to achieve overall project objectives
• Conduct field investigations, site assessments, and condition surveys to support design and project development and to ensure that the design meets all technical requirements and is feasible to build.
• Provides coordination and execution to prepare contract documents, follow project design guides and templates, research material and assemblies, create specifications, and choose appropriate material selections; ensure design intent is incorporated into the construction documents in compliance with UFCs and Air Force specific standards.
• Maintain project records and prepare technical reports, meeting minutes, and other documentation.
• Assists in construction administration duties including bid review and support, address technical issues, and site visits.
• Review submittals and provide technical feedback, review substitution requests, develop addenda, and respond to RFIs in a timely manner.
• Collaborates on interior architecture and interior design projects that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and space planning
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
• Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MacDill Air Force Base and guide the client on technical aspects for external design reviews or evaluations and create guidance documentation.
• Support programming and planning of facility requirements in coordination with Base stakeholders.

• Working knowledge in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
Required Education / Skills: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in architecture/engineering from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or in architecture from a program certified by the National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB)
- 7+ years of experience in architecture.
- Ability to obtain and maintain secret security clearance
Required Certificate / License / Registration: Professional licensed architect (RA) (State of Florida or eligible for reciprocity)
Valid Driver’s License
