Assistant Maintenance Technician

Essential Job Duties:

  • Report to work in a fit for duty and ready to work condition daily.
  • Inspect PPE and safety equipment prior to use, and report any PPE or equipment in a broken, worn, or not ready for use status.
  • Immediately report any injury or incident to a supervisor regardless of significance.
  • Participate in safety initiatives like observations, near misses, and safety committees.
  • Troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components of equipment adhering to lockout tagout procedures and other safety guidelines.
  • Perform general facility repairs, including but not limited to building, grounds, lighting, and plumbing.
  • Replace broken or defective parts on some equipment or facility as required.
  • May prepare written specifications for major repairs or production of parts; work with Maintenance Techs to create bill of materials, select proper materials, tools and equipment and complete requisitions for same.
  • Prioritize maintenance requests with Maintenance Manager.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement improvement to equipment.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with outside maintenance and service vendors.
  • Ensure quality of repairs performed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Some computer experience required (MS Office preferred).
  • Ability to work extended and weekend shifts, when needed.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to complete OSHA 30 within 3 months.
  • Ability to perform varied welding functions.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.
  • Ability to understand equipment and tool drawings.

Compensation:

  • HIRING HOURLY Rate of Pay: $23.90 (Hourly rate set by SCA)
