ATC Specialist, Terminal - Line Controller

Essential Responsibilities:

The designee is responsible for the safe and expeditious flow of air traffic within their designated control airspace in accordance with ICAO and FAA 7110.65 regulatory guidance. Rules of separation must be applied to achieve the required separation as outlined in FAA manuals and orders. The designee will coordinate with various controllers and personnel to relay information which pertains to the aircraft and in the interest of safety of flight including emergency information. The individual is responsible for vehicles and personnel operating on the airfield. Along with controlling aircraft the designee must be able to process flight plans and properly control arriving and departing aircraft. The designee will have a full working knowledge of control tower operations and a fundamental working knowledge of RADAR/Manual approach control and flight planning operations.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Graduate of an approved DoD or FAA ATC course.
  • Four (4) years of experience, one (1) year of experience must be from performing in a like type facility. Knowledge of ATC rules, regulations, and techniques. Shall hold one of the following tower certifications: FAA Control Tower Operator (CTO) certificate, FAA or AOV Credential with Tower rating, or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain FAA Class II Medical Certificate
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US CENTCOM Medical Exam 
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
