We have an exciting opportunity for a
Clean Room Operations Technologist to join the team!
The
Clean Room Operations Technologist will:
- Perform Daily checklist to maintain the operations of clean room
- Re-stock cleanroom garments.
- Process and inspect incoming launderable garments for proper cleaning and serviceability weekly
- Process dirty garments and prepare shipment to commercial cleaning garment weekly.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the cleanroom, anteroom, and spacecraft intake areas.
- Check and change all door entrance floor mats throughout the day.
- Check the health of vital clean room and chamber air pressure, temperature, and humidity levels and report anomalies to engineering.
- Maintain preventative maintenance records for clean room major equipment, filter life, and support utilities
- Point of Contact to ensure all material, equipment & tools meet the cleanliness requirements of the clean room.
- Point of Contact to ensure all personnel working within the clean room follow the guidelines while performing tasks within the clean room.
- Point of Contact for the clean room to ensure space vehicles and space hardware are appropriately cleaned, and requirements are met before moving into the clean room.
- Ensure that cleaning work orders are correctly executed by meeting cleaning specifications and quality inspection hold points.
- Coordinate with a team of technicians to perform periodic filter changes of clean room major filtration banks.
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure the cleaning of hardware meets cleanliness requirements prior to transferring it to the main clean room.
- Coordinate with engineering when equipment requires repair or replacement; support preventative maintenance and repair of systems or system components.
- Cross-train to support engineering with procurements and support projects with technical.
Requisition Qualifications:This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
- Typically requires a HS diploma and 5 years of experience or BS in Engineering Technology or related field.
- Familiar with NASA JSC Standard JPR 5322.1 Contamination Control Requirements Manual
- Familiar or knowledgeable with cleanroom operations.
- Familiar with clean-level inspection methods, clean-level categories, and measurement equipment.
- A mechanically inclined background is preferred
- MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Office). Preferred
- Exceptional organization skills.
- Experience in a leadership role directing the work of others.
- Able to work in a teamwork environment with Engineering and Technicians.
- Occasional extended hours will be required to meet the schedule.
Requisition Preferences: - Ability to develop or modify procedures and checklists pertinent to clean room operations.
- Opportunity to cross-train with various tasks by supporting Engineering, supervisors, and technicians.

Essential FunctionsWork EnvironmentGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and MachinesStandard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
AttendanceRegular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
