Corporate Marketing Coordinator – Estimated on-site in Herndon, Virginia 1-3 days per month, remote-telework when off-site.

The Corporate Marketing Coordinator plays a key role in the planning and execution of events at Amentum. This role will support marquee tradeshows, internal events, and various marketing related activities including social media, sales support, acting as a vendor liaison and more. This role is integral in event success and will have an active role in the planning process. Although this position is Remote, you will need to be in the office a few days per month for meetings and events, when off-site you can work remote-telework. When on-site you will report to our Amentum Herndon, VA office. US Citizenship is required.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of all activities to successfully execute corporate events and off-site meetings, tradeshows and any other event like functions.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and competence when dealing with clients and partners.
  • Track spending related to events and assist in submitting invoices.
  • Work events, to include staffing tradeshow booths during show hours.
  • Coordinate the procurement of giveaways and literature associated with events. Coordinate the production of signage and display systems.
  • Manage catering services including menu planning and food ordering, if applicable.
  • Support content creation for event materials like social media posts, blog posts, and more.
  • Track inventory for event giveaways and office materials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills are vital in this role to include:
  • Communicating clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing such as over email.
  • Listening to others and responding to their questions or concerns.
  • Excellent organizational skills are critical for keeping track of all the details of an event to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changes.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to balance planning multiple events at the same time, meet concurrent deadlines, and maintain schedules for related activities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to include anticipating potential problems and finding solutions to ensure that all aspects of events run smoothly.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as marketing, communications, hospitality, event planning or business administration. Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the college degree.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in marketing (event experience highly is preferred).
  • Local Remote Position - You must be able to commute to Herndon, VA when needed for meetings and events. We anticipate that you are on-site anywhere from 1-3 days per month. You will be permitted to work remote-telework when off-site. You must live local in VA, MD or DC.
