DARPA Defense Mission Travel and Logistics Coordinator

Amentum is seeking a highly organized and detailed oriented Defensive Mission Travel and Logistics Coordinator to manage travel arrangements for DARPA staff, military officers, and their support team.  The ideal candidate will handle all aspects of travel coordination, including booking flights and accommodations through the Defense Travel System (DTS), and commercial platforms.  This role offers an excellent opportunity to support a leading contractor and contribute to the national security mission.

Responsibilities:

  •  Plan, coordinate, and manage domestic and international travel for Government personnel using the Defense Travel System (DTS), including creating travel authorizations, reservations and vouchers 
  • Ensure compliance with DARPA guidelines, the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), and the Defense Travel Regulation (DTR) 
  • Track and manage travel expenses, projections, and reimbursements while maintaining accurate records of flight itineraries, hotel reservations, and other travel-related expenses
  • Address travel-related inquiries and resolve issues promptly
  • Collaborate with administrative personnel and other travel coordinators to ensure smooth travel execution
  • Perform quality control checks on travel documents and vouchers to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Manage and maintain the government equipment tracking database


Requirements: 

  • Active Secret clearance or higher required (Please note: US citizenship is required to obtain a US Secret clearance)
  • Minimum of three years of experience in travel coordination or related field, preferably within a government or military environment
  • Proficiency in the Defense Travel System (DTS), including the ability to create and manage travel authorizations, reservations, and vouchers
  • In-depth knowledge of travel regulations, such as the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and Defense Travel Regulation (DTS)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with military personnel and other stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple travel arrangements simultaneously
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in working directly with military personnel
  • Certification in travel coordination or a related field, such as Certified Travel Associate (CTA) or Certified Travel Manager (CTM)
  • Familiarity with additional travel management systems, such as Concur or GovTrip
