HIRING SALARY RANGE: $32.00 -$37.00 per hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.

The work schedule for this role is Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, however, various hours may be required based on business demand.

Responsible for daily support activities, including:

  • Troubleshoot, assemble, install, operate, calibrate, dismantle, and repair all types of electrical equipment.
  • Properly maintain and control the electrical distribution system to provide a reliable source of electricity to all areas.
  • May serve as maintenance advisor to engineering in material selection, documentation, calibration, testing and problem-solving methodology, project scope and follow up.
  • Maintain electrical systems from 50-volt instrumentation to complex boiler and chiller controls with voltages up to 600 volts.
  • Maintain and control site-wide distribution systems.
  • Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on all electrical equipment and distribution systems.
  • Infrared Thermography Scanning of sites electrical gear.
  • Utilize test equipment to test motors, control circuits, motor drives, UPS systems, batteries, grounding, isolated power, ground-fault circuits/outlets, voltage, and other load conditions.
  • Inspect and perform safety tests on lighting/outlet circuits, generators, motors, appliances, tools, etc.
  • Ensure all circuits are properly protected and systems/equipment are installed and maintained in accordance with the provisions of the NEC and other regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate work with outside contractors.
  • Perform preventive/predictive maintenance on industrial electrical control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Effectively communicate, respond, and provide service and feedback to the customer on work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Understand company policies and enforce safety regulations.
  • Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and utilize PPE as required.
  • Operate a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
  • Comply with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • General maintenance of equipment will also be required.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • 5 years of  experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, biomedical, or research & development facility maintenance
  • Ability to work in a highly regulated environment and diagnose/troubleshoot basic electrical equipment.
  • Strong electrical skills learned through previous work experience.
  • Ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
  • Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and be able to successfully complete a fit test for several types of respirators.
  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
  • Ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen. Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
  • Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Some physical/special requirements include:

  • Regularly lift to 50 lbs
  • Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding
  • Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement
  • Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift
  • Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions
  • Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding
  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.

Preferred Requirements

  • North Carolina State Masters Electricians License
  • Technical degree
  • Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment such as hospitals, biomedical or pharmaceutical campuses
  • Ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of various electrical testing equipment, voltages up to 600V, and the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing 480V 3 phase.
  • Knowledge of test equipment for relays, circuit breakers, and infrared scanning.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); EAMS experience is a plus.
  • Experience interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
