Amentum is currently seeking an Employee Relations Representative to perform work in a hybrid capacity out of our Herndon, Virginia office three times weekly. We're looking for a thoughtful and detail-oriented Employee Relations Representative to join our Intelligence & Cyber Human Resources team. In this role, you’ll work alongside the Employee Relations Director to tackle workplace issues, support investigations, and help ensure Company policies are applied fairly and consistently. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, good judgment, solid writing skills, and a proactive mindset when it comes to building a respectful and fair work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide coaching and support to managers and employees on employee relations topics, including performance issues, workplace conflicts, and policy guidance
Conduct or assist with investigations into employee complaints and alleged policy violations, ensuring fairness and objectivity
Draft well-organized, accurate investigative reports aligned with internal protocols and legal standards
Assist in drafting and reviewing disciplinary documentation, including written warnings and performance plans
Handle sensitive employee matters with a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
Collaborate with HR partners to ensure consistent application of HR policies and best practices
Contribute to ER-related training sessions on topics such as workplace conduct, compliance, and company expectations
Coordinate the layoff/reduction-in-force process, including preparing required documentation, tracking redeployment efforts, and verifying system updates
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma
2–4 years of HR experience
Experience with employee relations and/or workplace investigations
Solid knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and HR best practices
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to draft clear, professional documentation
High level of discretion with confidential and sensitive matters
Excellent organizational skills; capable of managing multiple priorities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with HRIS systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in labor relations
Willingness to travel up to 15%
