Amentum is seeking an experienced Engineer II to join our team in supporting the Team Submarine Combat System (TSCS) team in their mission to provide PEO Undersea Warfare Systems (PEO UWS) Combat and Weapons Systems (PMS425) program office with engineering support to their ChEng.  You will use your experience and capabilities to apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems. Your work will be the link between fleet and programmatic needs and commercial applications. You possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate complex information to stakeholders at all levels. You are proactive, work well both independently and within a team environment.

HIRING SALARY RANGE:

$50,000 - $100,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Essential Responsibilities:

  • You will support design products, builds, manage parts and machinery requirements, improve the performance of products, and take advantage of advances in technology.

  • You will analyze the impact of the products they develop or the systems they design on the environment and on the people using them.

  • You will work in testing, production, or maintenance by supervising production in factories and labs, determining the causes of breakdowns, and the testing of manufactured products to maintain quality.

  • You will estimate the time and cost to complete projects.

  • You will participate in cross-functional teams to support program objectives and ensure alignment with stakeholder needs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Active Secret Clearance.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.

  • 3+ years of applicable DoD Systems Engineering.

  • Strong desire to learn and grow an existing combat weapons systems engineering skillset.

  • Ability to analyze and process engineering program documentation.

  • Ability to assess and update spend plans.

  • Ability to develop/document/implement new processes.

  • Ability to analyze program risks and develop risk assessments.

  • Must be proactive, work independently, and within a team environment.

  • Must be able to support in the office on client-site 2-3 days per week, working remotely the remaining 2-3 days a week.

  • Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Must be able to travel to support client (minimal, 1-3 times per year- typically local: [Washington, DC, Manassas, VA, Fairfax, VA])

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NAVSEA and/or Team Submarine experience 

  • Familiarity with U.S. Naval weapons systems processes and practices

  • Experience or familiarity with the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical System (SWFTS) and/or BYG-1 submarine combat system

  • INCOSE ASEP Certification (International Council on Systems Engineering: Associate Systems Engineering Professional)

  • MBSE certification (Model Based Systems Engineering), e.g., SysML, MBSE, Agile MBSE, OCSMP, etc.

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
