About the Opportunity
Amentum South Africa (Pty) Ltd, an EPC company that does Electrical, Mechanical, and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) installation projects in the Nuclear Industry (Koeberg Nuclear Power Station), has an opening for an Financial Assistant position in our Melkbosstrand office. In this position, you will work within a Project Accounting and Controls environment supporting processes across our portfolio of programmes.
Job Purpose:
To perform and coordinate finance activities, including Bookkeeping & Transactions, Reconciliations, Reporting Support, Data Management and Compliance & Administration.
Key Responsibilities Will Be:
Processing Cashbooks, accounts payable/receivable, managing invoices, Timesheets and updating financial records.
Reconciling bank accounts and credit cards to ensure accuracy.
Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial reports, year-end audits.
Maintaining accurate financial databases and records using specialized accounting software.
Adhering to financial laws, company regulations, and performing general administrative tasks.
Here's What You'll Need
Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Software: Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
Analytical Skills: Strong numerical skills and attention to detail to minimize errors.
Communication: Effective interpersonal skills for collaborating with teams and dealing with vendors/clients.
Beneficial: Previous experience in project accounting or project control environment.
