Job Description – Financial Analyst

Hybrid (working at least 3 days in the office in Sydney)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to support FP&A activities across the APAC region. The role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning and delivering high‑quality financial insights. This position will work closely with cross‑functional teams to support business performance, improve forecasting accuracy and contribute to strategic commercial analysis.
 

The role will also support the Project Accounting team to assist with recording joint venture arrangements, requiring a strong understanding of accounting and financial performance considerations under both US GAAP and IFRS, including equity accounting, consolidation impacts and performance tracking for shared ownership structures.

Key Responsibilities

FP&A Planning & Analysis

  • Support the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, long‑range plans and scenario models for the APAC region, including joint ventures and other strategic investments.
  • Perform detailed G&L analysis across revenue, cost of sales, gross margin and OPEX.

Business Partnering

  • Provide financial insights, variance analysis and recommendations to Operations and Business Support Teams.
  • Partner with Project Accounting &  Commercial to support financial planning and analysis for joint venture arrangements under US GAAP and IFRS frameworks.

Financial Performance Reporting & Analysis

  • Analyse backlog, award billings and pipeline opportunities, including impacts on joint venture forecasting and revenue recognition.
  • Contribute to accurate revenue forecasting and target achievement through high‑quality, standards‑aligned financial analysis.
  • Prepare variance commentary and monthly/quarterly performance reporting for APAC to  global stakeholders, incorporating joint venture results (equity‑accounted outcomes) and reconciliation to group reporting under US GAAP.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales Operations, Business Operations Support, Supply Chain and Project Controls to improve planning accuracy, operational efficiency and alignment between management reporting and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Project Accounting team to ensure joint venture financial data is accurately reflected in forecasts, management reporting and external reporting processes.

Key Capabilities & Expected Outcomes

  • Deliver accurate, high‑quality financial models, forecasts and analysis across both wholly owned operations and joint venture structures.
  • Improve forecasting and planning through enhanced modelling, process optimisation and strong alignment with accounting standards.
  • Strengthen decision‑making through clear, data‑driven financial insights, including joint venture performance and risk assessments.

Qualifications & Preferred Core Skills

CPA/CA with a minimum of 3 years experience

•     Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Revenue & Margin Analytics
  • OPEX & Headcount Analysis

•     Financial Modelling

  • US GAAP & IFRS Reporting Knowledge, including Joint Venture Equity  Accounting
  • Hyperion,  Power BI, SmartView,  Salesforce, Advanced Excel

Location: Sydney

Security Clearance Required: Able to obtain a baseline clearance
