Amentum is currently seeking a Forensic & Biometric Subject Matter Expert (SME) for remote work with occasional onsite client visits as needed to enhance and support customers’ efforts. This position provides leadership in planning, execution, and evaluation of complex, multi-disciplinary projects that advance Amentum’s mission. The incumbent will leverage specialized expertise in forensics, biometrics, law enforcement operations, project management methodologies, and analytical problem-solving to drive successful outcomes across organizational boundaries and stakeholders.

The position requires the ability to simultaneously manage multiple, large-scale opportunities and proposals, collaborate with various business and technology leaders across Amentum to develop technical solutions for our customers. The position also requires a working knowledge of forensic/biometrics customer priorities, organizations, competition, and acquisition strategies to best position Amentum to further shape customer requirements, drive differential solutions, and expand market capture.

Candidates must have strong and current customer knowledge and networking relationships to identify opportunities in this market and position Amentum as a leading provider in those areas.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide expert advice on solutions to complex problems during project implementation, developing alternative approaches to planning, design, and challenges.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and methodologies for potential application to customer challenges.
  • Troubleshoot complex, multi-year project schedules and conduct technical reviews to verify objectives are being met across project portfolios.
  • Support the development and maintenance of forensic-related account plans aligned to strategy and growth priorities
  • Develop, write, and submit white papers, RFI/Market Survey responses, and other pre-proposal activities
  • Identification and prioritization of opportunities that are aligned to business growth
  • Develop win strategies and value proposition related to key pursuits
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal organizational units and external stakeholders including other Government entities and industry partners.
  • Cultivate and maintain customer relationships
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration
  • Represent Amentum at relevant forums (industry events, conferences, etc.)
  • Participate in capture activities, to include opportunity check points, black hat sessions, collaboration and workshop sessions, proposal reviews and meetings
  • Create comprehensive reports highlighting trends and projections to support informed decision-making and communicate status, risks, and accomplishments to all stakeholders.
  • Participate in planning and executing organizational goals utilizing strategic planning principles while translating directives into actionable implementation plans.
  • Synchronize customer and contractor activities to ensure mission success in current operations; coordinate future operations.
  • Proficient with requirement gathering, scheduling, and tracking the status of deliverables. 
  • Perform technical writing for contract documentation.

Required Qualifications:                    

  • Master’s degree with 8 years’ relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree with 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven record of successfully leading and managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Demonstrated experience working with Forensic, Biometrics and Law Enforcement Agencies
  • Candidates must have strong and current customer knowledge and networking relationships
  • Background in developing solutions to planning, design, and engineering issues
  • Led teams in a virtual environment; ability to work through others, and get results from teams that do not report directly to you
  • Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills coupled with the ability to establish and maintain productive customer and industry participant networks are essential
  • Efficient use of Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) is required
  • Position will require occasional travel.
  • Must have an Active Top-Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in building and managing a business growth pipeline
