We have an exciting opportunity for a
Geochemist Intern to join the team.
** This is a temporary role with a duration of 30 weeks. **
If selected, you will:
- Assist staff scientist in the operation of a GCMS and analysis of resulting data
- Assist with setup and volatile lunar simulant production of complex gas mixtures
- Execute planned experiments on cryogenic lunar simulant samples
- Validate, summarize and communicate quantitative results.
- Work both independently and as a part of the Cold Curation and Gas Sample Analysis Team
- Meticulously document procedures and actively participate in safety initiatives in the laboratory environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requisition Qualifications: - Currently enrolled at an accredited university and in Geochemistry Geoscience, Chemistry, or a closely related field
- Completed at least 45 credit hours
- Minimum of a 2.8 GPA
- Completed at least 45 credit hours.
- Experience working in a lab following safety procedures.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Essential FunctionsWork EnvironmentGenerally, an office environment can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Physical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
Equipment and MachinesStandard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
AttendanceRegular attendance following an established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust the schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
