Amentum is seeking an HVAC Team Lead for a position located in Williamsburg, VA.  The HVAC Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of HVAC technicians to maintain all base HVAC and associated building automation systems. This position reports to the O&M Manager and is responsible all HVAC maintenance on base.  This position will use their computer, management, safety, and quality control experience and skills to ensure the base is operational and all contract requirements are being met.  The HVAC Lead must coordinate their work with the leads of other Public Works departments and the customer.

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of International Mechanical Code requirements.
  • Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and construction drawings.
  • Knowledge and experience working with voltages up to 480 V.
  • Prepares estimates, man hours, materials used and orders items needed for job completion or inventory replacement per established procedures.
  • Follows all policy, procedures and service standards and complies with all current related safety and health requirements.
  • The lead will manage all scheduling, execution, and reporting of all maintenance and repairs to electrical generation, distribution, systems, and equipment on the base.
  • Develop SOPs and assist with document control as it relates to field and tool implementation.
  • Provide excellent customer service in supporting contract responsibilities.
  • Document work in the computerized maintenance management system, CMMS.
  • Assign daily tasks, work orders, and service calls to team and ensure the work is done in a timely manner to maintain contract compliance.
  • Ensure all employees are adhering to Amentum safety requirements.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure that work is completed in a satisfactory manner.
  • Ensure that equipment and tools are being properly maintained.
  • Develop lists of equipment and tools that will need to be purchased to maximize productivity of the department.
  • Work with procurement department to procure all materials, equipment, and tools to complete work.
  • Installs, services, and repairs environmental control systems in residences, office buildings, and other commercial establishments.
  • Utilizes knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout, mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications.
  • Required to be available to respond to after hours issues as per the on-call schedule.

Minimum Requirements

  • Journeyman HVAC license
  • Universal CFC certification.
  • A minimum of three years (3) previous experience managing a team of HVAC Technicians.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizing skills to coordinate project activities with Contractor and Government representatives, conduct fact-finding for special projects and/or to respond timely to Government inquiries.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules and under pressure of deadlines while maintaining performance standards.
  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office products.
  • Top Secret clearance with poly or ability to maintain.
