Summary/General Description Of Job:

The incumbent is responsible for general grounds maintenance and upkeep of all areas including the exterior of buildings and roadways.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

§ Performs tasks which require mainly physical abilities and effort involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.

§ The following tasks are typical of this occupation: loads and unloads trucks and other conveyances; moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks; stacks materials for storage or binning; collects refuse and salvageable materials.

§ Digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations; levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake; shovels concrete and snow; cleans culverts and ditches; cuts trees and brush; operates power lawnmowers; gutter/roof cleaning; carpet/vinyl flooring removal.

§ May be assigned as flagger or fire watch, if trained and certified.

§ Moves and arranges heavy pieces of material, furniture, equipment, and appliances. Spreads sand and deicer on icy roads and walkways; picks up leaves and trash.

§ Duties may include grounds maintenance laborer tasks. May be assigned to assist in the spill response team May be required to obtain and maintain asbestos certification for the purpose of removing asbestos.

§ Performs other related duties as assigned.

May perform work in other classifications when incidental work is necessary to the accomplishment of the work assignment. Significant work in another job classification may be required if accompanied by any wage adjustments applicable.

• The proper use of tools and equipment commonly used in the landscaping and laborer field.

• Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.

• Timely and cost-effective performance of duties.

• Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work.

• Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.

• Adherence to established company safety policies and good industrial and office safety practices.

• Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies and procedures.

• Having the ability to work well under pressure.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):

Mandatory

• Must obtain and maintain required explosives certifications when assigned to ordnance operations.

• Must meet and maintain company physical and security requirements, including respirator qualification, and clearance eligibility when required. Must possess good communication skills for a service team environment.

• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record

• Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.

• U.S. Citizenship.
