Amentum is seeking a Mental Optimization Performance (MPO) Instructor/Cognitive Performance Coach to provide tailored educational programs, to a Department of Defense customer, which foster a culture of resilience and performance enhancement, assisting unit personnel in achieving their personal and professional goals, and ensuring that training aligns with organizational success in Fairfax County, VA and Anne Arundel County, MD.

Responsibilities

• As a MPO Instructor/Cognitive Performance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in developing, coordinating, and implementing mental readiness and cognitive performance optimization programs for the unit and assigned personnel.

• Provide education, coaching, and mentoring to assigned personnel on cognitive skills and mental readiness strategies to support mission execution and individual tasks.

• Teach unit personnel practical applications of resilient thinking, coping, and performance enhancement skills.

• Develop training plans and prepare for training events, including conducting research and tailoring course material.

• Provide tailored educational programs and workshops to help unit personnel achieve their goals.

• Assist in developing and maintaining Mental Readiness Programs, ensuring consistent and effective delivery of services aligned with organizational success.

• Advise and collaborate with the MPO Lead and other health professionals on program assessment, improvement, and monitoring.

• Participate in professional development opportunities and in-service training.

• Support research efforts and provide data and feedback to the MPO Lead and unit leadership.

• Ability to travel as needed to support geographically dispersed units.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have an active Top Secret (TS) US Government security clearance with SCI eligibility. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

• Master's degree or PhD in Performance or Sports Psychology, Applied Neuroscience, Cognitive or Educational Psychology.

• 10+ years demonstrated experience as mental performance coach or sports psychologist.

• 4+ years demonstrated experience working as SME with government or military personnel (Special Operations).

• Experience applying cognition to a variety of high-performance domains with elite level adult professionals.
