MK 44/MSI Seahawk Weapons Technician

Amentum is actively seeking a Weapons Technician for International Fleet Support of the MSI Seahawk Deck Gun System and 30mm MK44 cannon. This position is part of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) PMS 326 Follow-On Technical Support (FOTS) contract. Come join our growing Iraq team! You will work a 90/30 rotation (90 days on-site and 30 days off) at the Iraq Naval Base in the port of Umm Qasr.

Essential responsibilities and daily duties include:

  • Provide hands-on subject matter expertise for the 30mm MK 44 and MSI-DS Seahawk Weapons Systems utilized on Iraqi Naval vessels.

  • Conduct hands-on training in the operation, maintenance, and repair of all 30mm MK 44 and MSI-DS Seahawk Deck Gun Systems.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on the weapon system's operation, theory, and repair.

  • Collaborate with the Amentum In-Country Team, Port Engineer, and the Iraqi Navy to provide timely and efficient technical support for the Seahawk Weapons System.

  • Serve as a technical advisor/consultant.

  • Provide deck gun systems planning and workload execution support efforts.

  • Support troubleshooting and repair of of the weapons system.

  • Provide timely and comprehensive input for the Monthly Status Report.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • 5 years of experience with weapons systems, primarily small arms and deck guns maintenance and repair. 

  • Working knowledge and operational experience with MSI weapons systems, components, and associated support systems.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Must be proficient in English.

  • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS. 

  • Ability to obtain a country clearance and base pass authorization. 

  • Ability to possess an active passport at least two years after arrival in Iraq. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience with weapons systems, primarily small arms and deck guns maintenance and repair.

  • 5 years of experience as a MK44 Gun/Weapons Technician with specific experience maintaining MSI deck gun systems.

  • In-depth knowledge (technician and SME-level) of advanced electro-optical and laser range finding gun director systems.
