Amentum is seeking a Munitions Handler Supervisor to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Munitions Handler Supervisor will monitor shipping and receiving activities to assure all operations are performed in accordance with Federal, State, Military Regulations, and associated Laws. Will conduct storage area inspections and participate in quality control audits and surveys internal to the Hawthorne Army Depot.      

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.

  • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

  • Responsible for the supervision of personnel operating MHE and the handling of any HWAD munitions/ordinance.

  • Make work assignments, monitor work, performance and perform other administrative duties as necessary to ensure safe and compliant operations of the facility.

  • Follow specific direction of the SDO Superintendent and SDO Manager.

  • Interface with necessary organizations to coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

  • Ensure that high levels of housekeeping are maintained in work area.

  • May serve in absence of SDO Superintendent if necessary.

  • Assist in certification process by active (OJT) to promote certification.

  • May be responsible for performing interviews. 

  • Oversee/supervise manual, technical, and mechanically assisted duties involved with the storage, receipt, shipment, inspection, of explosive ordnance items or components. Follow all pertinet local, state and federal compliance documents and procedures.

  • Oversee/supervise warehousing duties involving stock movement into or out of storage facilities, physical inventory, warehouse arrangement, accessibility, inspect, load, package, move, or mark any ordnance items or components.

  • Must ensure all doors and winows are properly sercure in work areas. May supervise other duties as assigned and may be reassigned to other SDO supervisory locations as workload fluctuates.

  • May operate or supervise the operation of computer based programs such as the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) and AIT scanning tools.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required training in accordance with Amentum’s Master Training Plan.

  • Must satisfactorily complete the Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working Ammunition Operations required by AMC Regulation 350-4 within 90 days of hire.

  • Counsel assigned personnel on company policies, procedures, performance and personnel issues.

  • Responsible for performance evaluations.

  • Assess and monitor employee fitness-for-duty. Interpret policy and recommend hiring/discipline/discharge.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.

  • Prior supervisory experience.

  • Experience working in a production atmosphere.

  • High school diploma/equivalent.

  • Must be willing to work overtime, varying hours and/or rotating shifts, when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.

  • Must be willing and able to be trained to operate forklift/fork truck or material handling lifting devices.

  • Must be willing and able to work in a procedurally compliant environment.

  • Must be willing and able to work in an environmental and safety compliant environment and be willing and able to wear various levels of personal protective equipment.

  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment

  • Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to solve complex problems and understand the impact of decisions upon the operation on the facility

  • Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritize projects, adapting to changes as they occur.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to speak publicly and communicate clearly during normal and crisis situations.

  • Ability to read and comprehend explicit operating procedures and processes.

  • Demonstrate willingness to be a team player.

  • Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-orientated work.

  • Takes initiatives to meet or exceed performance expectations.

  • Conduct oneself with responsibility, integrity, accountability, and adhere to employee conduct expectations.

  • Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada drivers license unless physically unqualified to obtain such a license.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Must be a US Citizen or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain HWAD site access.

  • Must also be able to obtain and maintain a Secret government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain both of these Clearances.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in work management/control, preferred.

  • Experience working in a hazardous materials environment, preferred.

SECURITY CLEARANCE

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program.  As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, drug testing, medical exam and respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by 29 CFR and Army Regulations: AR 190-11, AR 190-13 and DOD Contractors Safety Manual 4145.26

Salary and Other Compensation:  
The annual Salary for this position is between $70,000 - $80,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
