We are seeking a Network Engineer to work onsite in Quantico, VA.

The Network Engineer will lead and participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.

Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Possess the knowledge and skillset to analyze, design, install, configure, maintain, and repair network infrastructure and application components

• Possess knowledge required to configure and integrate network devices, firewalls, hubs, routers, and switches

• Provide direction and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations

• Assist in the design and development of complex multi-server environments based on VMware virtual servers

• Possess strong knowledge of the transactional flow-of TCP/IP based-communications at all layers of the OSI model

• Have in-depth understanding of specific network communications techniques (DNS, IP Routing, HTTP, SNMP, VPN, Firewalls, Email Routing, etc.)

• Provide technical support of network devices through analysis and troubleshooting tools and providing solutions.

• Provide ongoing network support to address availability issues, overcomes performance problems, and provides overall level 2 support

• Manage network performance, diagnoses performance problems and undertakes tuning activities to ensure network performance meets req uirements.

• Troubleshoot and resolve problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network

• Report on overall network performance including frequent problems, underlying issues and plans to improve network availability, performance and problem resolution.

• Minimum five years of industry experience in implementation, and technical support of network devices (Cisco routers, Layers, switches, ASAs, and networked servers)

• Must have knowledge and hands-on experience with TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, and relevant Layer 2 & Layer 3 networking protocols (ARP, 802.1q, STP/RSTP, IPSEC VPN, etc.)

• Must have knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco OSPF and BGP routing protocols

• Experience with network Operating Systems such as Cisco IOS and Cisco ASA.

• Must be available 24/7 for system troubleshooting and support

• On an as needed basis or as requested, visit and provide support

• Must be able to communicate technical information to customers with varying skill levels

• Experience designing and documenting process and procedures

• Experience implementing and maintaining IPSEC and SSL VPN solutions

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a high degree of self-motivation

Active Top Secret Clearance and ability to pass Counter Intelligence polygraph

Preferred:

• Previous experience securing responsible networks by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring network access.

• Able to work with little to no supervision

• Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail
