Amentum is seeking a mission-driven OAI Planner (Operations, Activities, and Investments Planner) to provide technical and operational support to Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT) N33 Future Operations. This position plays a vital role in theater-wide operational war planning, synchronization of Operations, Activities, and Investments, and strategic coordination to support the Combatant Commander and Theater JFMCC objectives.

You would be an excellent candidate for this position if you:

  • Have direct experience supporting U.S. Navy operational planning, ideally in a Future Ops or Joint HQ setting.
  • Are detail-oriented and can track complex operational programs and issues across multiple commands.
  • Can communicate effectively at the Flag level and create high-impact briefs and analysis.
  • Understand how to drive Operations, Activities, and Investments planning efforts that align with force readiness, Global Force Management, and Theater objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an Operations Action and Investments Planner providing planning analysis and execution support for Operations, Activities, and Investments under COMPACFLT N33 Future Operations.
  • Track and inform N33 leadership on all aspects of Operations, Activities, and Investments program management, including conflicts, changes, and deficiencies affecting Combatant Commander and Theater JFMCC goals.
  • Manage PACFLT inputs into the Command and Control of the Information Environment (C2IE) database; provide system expertise to support reporting, assessment, and planning.
  • Monitor and track subordinate Fleet and adjacent component Operations, Activities, and Investments; assist with synchronization and deconfliction efforts across the theater.
  • Liaise with supported and supporting commands to plan, coordinate, and execute Operations, Activities, and Investments involving COMPACFLT forces.
  • Develop planning documents, AMHS messages, briefing materials, and deployment documentation (including TPFDD support).
  • Provide forward-looking operational planning support for future Joint Task Force efforts.
  • Build decision briefs and informational products for senior leadership, up to and including Flag-level officers.
  • Analyze impacts of deployment delays, maintenance issues, and force management changes on the execution of Operations, Activities, and Investments; recommend mitigations and alternatives.
  • Work with Future Operations team to maintain alignment with Theater objectives despite evolving global operational conditions.
  • Attend and participate in battle rhythm events, meetings, and planning boards.
  • Liaise with external agencies, including DoD entities, intelligence agencies, and contract program offices, on all matters related to Operations, Activities, and Investments.
  • Approximately 20% travel possible, both to Mainland U.S. and Allied and Partner nations, in support of conferences, planning sessions, and exercises.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of U.S. Navy planning experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience with:
    • Theater security cooperation planning
    • Objective-based operational planning
    • Operational assessments
    • AMHS message traffic and OPLAN support
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written, verbal, and briefing skills.
  • Ability to interface professionally with senior military and civilian leadership.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Future Plans or Future Operations manager.
  • Formal education or course completion in MOPC, MAWS, or related operational planning programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience supporting PACFLT, Joint Staff, or a Combatant Command at the N3/J3 level.

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $135K - $150K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
