Purpose of the Position                                                                                                         

Plans, coordinates resource management, and schedules Projects on the Synergy Achieving Consolidated Operations and Maintenance (SACOM) Contract. Participates in cross-functional team meetings to develop scope delivery and coordinates across multiple disciplines to achieve the plans. Designs project/program/core requirements schedules of data in all project lifecycles. Schedules and maintains knowledge of all key project milestones. Administers projects from conceptualization to implementation and evaluates all issues.

Duties and Responsibilities                                                                                                           

  • Prepares baseline schedules and schedule basis documents for approval by project teams and for integration into a Master SACOM Schedule.
  • Assesses impacts to the critical path and near-critical activities and report to the project team.
  • Works with Project Managers on resource load schedules to status and perform job site walks to verify physical progress of scheduled activities as needed.
  • Requires basic knowledge and understanding of Maximo work flow.
  • Performs tasks required to develop and maintain budgets for a project including reorganizing budgets resulting from a change in means and methods, and updating budgets for additional work activities.
  • Monitors costs and progress weekly including coding or reviewing the coding of timesheets, invoices, etc. for accuracy, and insuring adequate tracking of quantities and production. The results of the analysis should be analyzed and clearly communicated to the other members of the project team.
  • Prepares monthly project forecasts based on extensive knowledge of the ongoing project activities as well as input from other members of the project team.
  • Provides guidance and/or on-the-job training to clerical and entry level professional personnel assigned to area of responsibility as needed.
  • Assists in the preparation and negotiation of cost for additional work on the project including tracking time and material work.
  • Gathers data from the project team to create and update Microsoft Project schedules.
  • Analyzes resource workload across multiple projects.
  • Updates PowerPoint presentations for project review meetings.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Qualifications

  • Must pass company and NASA required background check and be eligible to obtain a NASA security badge.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent required; can substitute experience for degree.
  • Minimum one (1) years of working as a scheduler or project controller in the Project Management field.
  • Experience working with tactical and strategic planning.
  • Experience working with project management software.
  • Experience with publishing project schedules and resource allocation schedules, enabling consistent high on time delivery of requirements.

Working Conditions

  • Occasional risk of injury due to hazards.
  • Physical effort involving standing, sitting, walking, or detail work.

Physical Requirements                                                                                                           

  • Dexterity to operate office equipment as
  • Bending, stooping, and walking.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hardhat, and gloves).

Special Knowledge and Skills                                                                                                           

  • Proficient in standard business office software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to think independently and handle multiple projects through to completion.
  • Able to work independently but follow specific, detailed instructions.
  • Able to interface with various levels of personnel in a multi-cultural, team-oriented environment.

Preferences:

  • Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations preferred.

 Other Requirements                                                                                                           

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
  • Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
  • Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
  • Must pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.
  • Clean, neat, and professional personal appearance.
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid driver’s license.
