POSITION SUMMARY:

Amentum is recruiting for the position of Operations Manager in Germany contingent on contract award. The Operations Manager will oversee the logistics and operations for the General Services Administration (GSA) Global Supply OCONUS Logistics Operations Solutions Support in the EUCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR). This role involves managing the supply chain, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring efficient and compliant operations to meet GSA’s contract requirements.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, implement, and oversee supply chain, warehousing, and distribution operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products
  • Perform demand analysis of product usage, forecast and recommend stock levels, reduce and eliminate overstock and waste
  • Develop, manage, and maintain logistics strategies to optimize distribution, transportation, warehousing, and inventory management
  • Lead and mentor a team of logistics and operations staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
  • Operational and day-to-day responsibility for operations of multiple distribution centers in the Area of Responsibility (AOR)
  • Operational responsibility for transportation team and oversee outbound distribution to all customers
  • Ensure suppliers and procured products are in contract compliance and meet minimum specifications, while ensuring the use of mandatory sources
  • Coordinate staffing, training, and performance to ensure a high-performing team
  • Conduct audits and inspections to maintain compliance and identify areas for improvement
  • Manage relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure quality products and services are provided
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms for the organization
  • Develop and manage budgets for operations, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost control
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on operational performance and strategic initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices to improve operational effectiveness
  • Lead initiatives for innovation and technology adoption within the distribution program

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in operations management, within logistics and distribution environment
  • Experience in government contracting and compliance
  • Experience in supply chain and logistics
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, ISM) is a plus
  • Familiarity with military supply chain and distribution operations and standards
  • Familiarity with GSA, AbilityOne, Trade Agreements Act (TAA), EUCOM region
  • Knowledge and experience in demand analysis, forecasting, and inventory management
