This position will be based in Japan, primarily at a customer location aboard Marine Corp Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, in support of the Amentum Base Operations & Support contract with the US Department of Defense (DoD)/Navy- Marine Corps.

Our team is looking for an organized and analytical professional. A successful candidate will have strong communication and problem-solving skills to support a rewarding customer mission.

This is full time position providing operational mission support.

In addition to meeting the necessary qualifications the selected candidate must be comfortable working in a dynamic and high-energy environment.

Working Environment: This is a non-SOFA assignment

Work Schedule: This position works eight hours/day five days a week minimum. The candidate participates in a 24/7 duty phone rotation.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops techniques and procedures for the efficient and profitable operation of the buildings under his/her supervision.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships and communications, both internally and externally, with persons of all backgrounds and organizational levels.
  • Accepts responsibility for his/her own performance and demonstrates the capability to assist other team members in reaching success within the organization.
  • Prepares accurate, detailed, and timely reports.
  • Possesses and demonstrates a positive approach toward achieving outstanding customer satisfaction.
  • Constantly seeks ways to improve and promote quality of work product.
  • Displays ability and willingness to make decisions and offer guidance in real time.
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
  • Interface within the Functional Areas for the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of contractual deliverables.
  • Assist and supplement Safety and Quality personnel with recordkeeping tasks of the assigned Functional Area.
  • Organize and maintain documents electronically in SharePoint.

Minimum Acceptable Experience and Qualification Levels:

  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Must have exceptional proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and web based tools.
  • Prior experience in an operations and maintenance or construction environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience with a work order management system such as a Maximo or SAP based CMMS is preferred.
  • Previous experience working directly with a customer.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in facilities maintenance and repair or a related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of building operations, maintenance and repairs to include electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, boilers, etc.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Language Requirements:

  • Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with employees, management, and the client.

Professional Licenses & Certifications: N/A

Other Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess a valid passport of home country with a minimum of 12 months remaining to expiration date.  If not currently a resident of Japan
  • Will be expected to obtain a company-sponsored Japanese Work Visa if not currently a resident of Japan.
  • Position requires the applicant to drive in the performance of work duties.  Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Japanese Driver License and be able to operate a Company provided motor vehicle on MCAS Iwakuni.
  • Transportation is not provided to locally hired personnel for the purpose of commute to and from the workplace.  Non-locally hired are expected to obtain and maintain the legal ability to operate a Company provided vehicle both on and off the installation for the purpose of commute and/or on-site transportation.  Those unable to obtain and maintain the legal means to operate a motor vehicle in Japan or aboard the installation will be responsible for their own transportation for all purposes.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
