Job Summary
Amentum is seeking an experienced Principal Systems Engineer with the technical expertise to implement solutions, evaluate products, and build upon an infrastructure that supports the changing needs of our customers. In this role, the Principal Systems Engineer will design, develop, and integrate complex systems for every stage of the lifecycle while advocating long term technical vision.
The unique test sites we support are perpetually in a state of planning, integration, and test execution. Often programs overlap requiring the sites to be in more than one of the afore mentioned stages simultaneously. Critical aspects of this role are to lead the development of technical solutions to meet customer test requirements, develop concept solutions to solve testing challenges, lead detailed design efforts to resolve technical issues, and communicate status and issues across the broader program. This role will require a multidisciplinary engineering approach across electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, power and mechanical subsystems.
This fast-paced program requires initiative, teamwork, and the ability to effectively communicate across all organizational levels. The team is multi-organizational, and roles span from senior program managers to engineers, to on-site technicians, logistics, budget, and everything in-between. It is, therefore, critical for this role to be able to communicate complex ideas to a broad and occasionally non-technical audience in support of program priorities.
The environment demands attention to detail while never losing site of the big picture, in short, execution within the broader strategy.
