Amentum is looking for a Project Manager/ Superintendent to join our team in McLean, Virginia!

Purpose and Impact: Under limited supervision, applying comprehensive project knowledge and subject matter expertise, provide project advisory support including detailed, comprehensive analysis interpreting technical and programmatic elements to prepare routine and non-routine correspondence and documentation, project presentations and briefings, and project management reports.  Responsible for work procedures, scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, and the maintenance of accurate records.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 hour days or as project requires, weekends when necessary

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor personnel assigned to project support functions.
  • Interface with internal functional teams and external customers for planning, prioritization, and issue resolution of overall activities in the support and achievement of customer goals.
  • Interact and advise customers, through the application of specific project knowledge and subject matter expertise, in the execution of project management tasks.
  • Analyze requirements; review and coordinate with internal and external customers to generate project documentation such as plans, schedules, briefings, reports, correspondence, contract/contract modifications, technical instructions, technical procedures or related material.
  • Analyze and track project budgets, schedules and deliverables, conduct research into specific areas, prepare findings and report findings to customer.
  • Create and maintain master files/schedules related to project history, execution and status for the life of the project (inception to close out).
  • Review, analyze, provide technical comments, and provide assessment of technical and non-technical project reports; research specific areas and prepare findings.
  • Interface with internal and external principal project participants for planning and prioritization and resolution of overall activities and resolution of issues to support customer goals. 
  • Ensure timely and efficient execution of fieldwork.
  • Act as a customer contact for all construction project field activities.
  • Ensure all construction is in compliance with design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements and is built to quality standards.
  • Under limited direction, has responsibility for all construction activities on a project.
  • Report to the Construction Manager and is thoroughly knowledgeable and fully accountable with considerable latitude in decision making.
  • Under general direction, responsible for managing very large and/or complex construction projects.
  • Conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard construction techniques.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on unusually complicated projects.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned and requested.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizational skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications
  • Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work
  • Position may require travel.

Security Clearance Required:  - Must be a U.S. Citizen, and able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance

Minimum Education: High school diploma

Minimum Years of Experience: 8 years’ experience in field construction supervision or demonstrated equivalent.

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position.

Compensation Details:

$120,000 - $140,000
