This is a full-time Service Contract (SCA) position.

A Protection Specialist will be assigned to Compound Facilities Support

  • Protection Specialist supporting Compound Facilities will mainly be working outdoors.
  • Integral member of the larger construction security team.
  • Manages entrance and perimeter of sensitive site locations.
  • May be tasked to support compound shuttle services or parking management.

Responsibilities:

  • Closely observing activities of individuals working and/or visiting the customer facilities.
  • Provide a safe and secure environment in facilities where assigned.
  • Supporting requirements that will require standing or walking 80% to 90% of each shift.
  • Must maintain a constant state of alertness.
  • Ensure subjects do not enter any areas where they are not authorized, nor where they do not have a valid reason for entering.
  • Provide written reports of incidents and security violations
  • Maintain a security logbook of site activities.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Secret clearance or higher at time of application.
  • Must submit and remain in a clearance pipeline to obtain a TS clearance.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time while remaining alert and attentive.
  • Possess the visual acuity to observe the activities of other individuals from a moderate distance. This position requires visual observation of personnel working or visiting customer facilities.
  • Must successfully complete Virginia DCJS Unarmed Security Officer training within 90 days of being hired.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Professional oral and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand for 8-12 hours per day.
  • Able to walk on uneven surfaces and safely navigate an active construction site with debris and other trip hazards on the floor at all times.
  • Must be able to climb 5 flights of stairs multiple times within an 8-12 hour work shift.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds / 10 Kilograms.
  • Must be able to make logical, mentally competent, and safe decisions when working on a construction site.
