Senior Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust power distribution systems for vehicle-integrated equipment, including power distribution boxes, wiring harnesses, and cabling. Documenting design for some RF and Ethernet cables will also be required.
  • Ensure designs adhere to relevant industry safety standards and codes (e.g., SAE, ISO, IPC,MIL-STD).
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and other design documentation using PTC Creo.
  • Collaborate with technicians and manufacturing personnel to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective. Provide support during assembly and integration.
  • Update and revise drawings and documentation as needed based on feedback from technicians, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Work directly with customers to understand their requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and occasionally assist in developing new requirements.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to cross-functional teams.
  • Assist with fielding.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering and vehicle integration technologies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in electrical system design, preferably in the automotive or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of power distribution system design principles, including cable sizing, connector selection, circuit protection, and grounding techniques.
  • Proficiency in using CAD software for electrical design, with PTC Creo experience preferred; experience with other CAD software will be considered.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., SAE, ISO, IPC, MIL-STD).
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and integration is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Clearance:

  • Must have an Active US Government Secret Clearance. Please note US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

The salary range for this position is $110k to $150K. (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
