Amentum is currently seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to provide software testing for our award winning team.   

Senior Linux System Administrator Responsibilities Include:

• Providing customer service, IT and Software testing support for software development lab in Dahlgren, VA to support Naval Surface Warfare Center development lab.  

• Managing multiple priorities from user needs, to upgrade requirements for the lab, to test weapon system maintenance software updates.

• Working with a small team of software engineers and data scientists to support exciting research-related software work.

• Available to support Software Lab in Dahlgren, VA between 8-5 M-F with occasional flexibility to work some evening hours approaching inspections, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in technical field

• Five (5) + years’ experience in Systems Administration.

• DOD 8570.01 M Level 2 or ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ or equivalent that meets IT Level 2 either at or within one (1) month of start.

• Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance (at a minimum, must receive/be approved for an interim Secret security clearance in order to start) Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.

• IT Level 2;  7 or more years of equivalent experience administering Linux/Window systems.

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining Linux servers and tools in support of software development; to include scripting to automation tasks;
