• Configure and troubleshoot advanced networking on RHEL, including static routing, policy-based routing, and network-teaming.
• Maintain and configure nginx as a reverse proxy for internal web services.
• Manage KVM virtualization (libvirt) and associated bridged/routed networking for guest VMs.
• Secure and manage remote access protocols, primarily OpenSSH.
• Collaborate with the systems team on the migration to RHEL 9.
• Contribute to infrastructure planning and the implementation of new systems or upgrades.
• Management of updating and patching of the OS and software.
• System Administration tasks as required, such as software deployment, upgrade installation, security remediation tasks and account management.
• Management of monitoring and logging solutions.
Essential Requirements:
• Expert-level knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8/9) administration (RHCE-level skills or equivalent experience).
• In-depth understanding of the Linux networking stack (iproute2, firewalld, nftables).
• Proven experience with nginx for reverse proxy and load-balancing configurations.
• Strong understanding of core networking protocols (TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with RHEL-based virtualization (KVM, qemu).
• In-depth knowledge of Red Hat Satellite Server, including lifecycle management, patch deployment, and system provisioning.
• Thorough understanding of operating system standard operating environments (SOEs), including risk mitigation strategies and security hardening techniques.
• Proficient in maintaining technical documentation, including process and architecture documentation using Confluence or similar platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical and policy requirements across varying levels of seniority.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, while also providing business-as-usual (BAU) operational support.
• Relevant Linux or Red Hat credentials.
