Amentum is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to support our federal program at Ft Meade, MD. The Intel and Cyber Division is assembling a team of highly skilled systems engineers to prototype a next-generation collaboration capability for the Department of Defense. Responsibilities:

• Assess and identify appropriate solutions based on system requirements

• Aptitude and fluency in both MS Windows based services and also Cisco and Brocade Networking solutions.

• Manage and maintain an IT enterprise centered around Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and related products.

• Design and implement system applications and configurations.

• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.

• Identify and diagnose complex performance, security, and technical issues.

• Performing system and software updates to enhance performance.

• Develop and implement solutions across a wide range of technologies.

• Implement and maintain DISA STIG requirements.

• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.

Requirements:

• Certified in accordance with Cyber Workforce Management Program DoDD 8140.1 and DoD 8570.01-M.
• Experience with Windows Server 2019, Citrix Xen Desktop, VMware ESXi, Active Directory, SAN, SQL 2012/16, VCP 7.X
• Demonstrate ability to provide advanced/senior level support and guidance on the configuration, integration and maintenance of (at a minimum) IBM, HP, CISCO, Brocade, TACLANE, DELL hardware and software.
• Demonstrate ability to provide advanced/senior level support with the engineering/architecture, deployment and support of MS Windows server -2008R2 - 2016 (data center), all aspects of efficient and secure management of Active Directory and its associated services, MS Exchange, MS SQL Server, MS System Center/Operations Manager.
• Must demonstrate the aptitude and expertise to support existing legacy services while preparing efficient migration strategies to current or more efficient versions of services.
• Expert level knowledge and support for virtual and cloud-based technologies; emphasis on ESXi, Xen Desktop and CISCO UCS and the deployment and sustainment thereof.
• Experience in management and control of complex information systems architectures, systems involving multiple disparate networks, and communications subsystems.
• Experience in the installation, configuring, and managing of Nutanix, Trellix, VMware, and Infoblox.
• Demonstrated experience in security requirements associated with DoD enterprise systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.E
• Exceptional attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills; critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Minimum Education:

• HS Diploma

Minimum Years of Experience:

• 8+ years of related experience

Required Certifications:

• Must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II or IAM-I baseline certification requirements such as Security + or equivalent
• Certified in accordance with Cyber Workforce Management Program DoDD 8140.1 and DoD 8570.01-M

Preferred:

• VMware certification VCP 6.x

• Experience with Infoblox
• Experience with Nutanix
• Experience with Commvault 11.x
• Experience with System Center Configuration Manager 2012 or higher
• Experience with Windows Server 2025, SQL 2016, SharePoint 2016, and other related technologies
• Experience with ACAS, Trellix endpoint security, and MECM
• Familiarity with ITILv4
• Experience with Microsoft Exchange 2016
• Experience developing IT checklists, SOPs, guides, etc

The base salary range for this position is $170,000 to $190,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
