The Engine Technical Inspector (TI) is responsible for performing detailed inspections, quality assurance, and verification of maintenance actions on aircraft engines—including T700 and T55 models—in accordance with U.S. Army aviation standards, Technical Manuals (TMs), and contractual requirements. This position ensures compliance with all maintenance procedures, documentation accuracy, and airworthiness standards. The Engine Technical Inspector also supports site management functions, including personnel oversight, scheduling, and coordination of MFEDS (Modernized Flexible Engine Diagnostic System) operations, to maintain optimal mission readiness and operational efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct technical inspections, in-process checks, and final acceptance inspections on T700 and T55 engines, components, and related systems to ensure compliance with applicable TMs, Army regulations, and OEM specifications.
Perform detailed quality assurance reviews of maintenance and test documentation, ensuring accuracy and traceability in accordance with DA regulations and company QA procedures.
Oversee and verify all MFEDS (Modular Fuel Engine Diagnostic System) operations to ensure data accuracy, maintenance compliance, and proper engine performance evaluation.
Lead and support troubleshooting and corrective actions on engines, modules, and components exhibiting performance deficiencies or system faults.
Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to maintenance personnel in proper inspection, troubleshooting, and documentation procedures.
Coordinate daily operations and personnel activities within the engine shop or maintenance site to ensure production goals, safety standards, and quality requirements are met.
Collaborate with Quality, Production Control, and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain compliance with DCMA, ISO, and Army Aviation standards.
Maintain strict adherence to environmental, HAZMAT, and safety regulations, ensuring a culture of compliance and accountability within the site.
Approve or reject work accomplished by field team members to ensure compliance with customer specifications, standards and technical data.
Perform analysis of defects and interprets quality control rejection and failure trends.
Monitor safety, training, and certification requirements.
Using checklists, perform daily work site Safety Inspections and Foreign Object Damage Inspections.
Monitor tool control programs, inspects and maintains records to ensure that measuring and test equipment meets calibration requirements.
Maintain Quality, Safety, Training and Certification Records.
Coordinate with the Customer Quality Assurance Representative concerning quality matters, mandatory inspection points and final acceptance inspection of contract end items or services.
Inspect forms and records related to engine maintenance.
Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
Shall have Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
Demonstrated experience managing or coordinating maintenance site operations, including personnel supervision, workload prioritization, and resource allocation.
FAA A&P or FCC Elements 1 and 3 Required.
Must possess (FAA) A&P Certificate with at least One (1) year of experience inspecting assigned Mission Design Series (MDS AH-64, CH-47, UH-60) aircraft.
If No A&P (FCC Elements 1 and 3 required); with the FCC License candidate have a minimum Five (5) years of experience as an Aircraft Inspector on the Mission Design Series (MDS AH-64, CH-47, UH-60) airframe they will be inspecting.
FAA IA - Inspection Authorization strongly preferred.
If no IA, shall have a minimum Five (5) years of experience as an Aircraft Inspector (TI) on the MDS AH-64, CH-47, UH-60 airframe they will be inspecting.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization**NAC-I T1 Public Trust. Note: US Citizenship is required for a facility credentials/authorization at the work location.
Interim NACI approval required for deployment.
Valid US Passport Required for deployment to Germany.
Germany Specific:
TESA Approval: (German Govt) Must be able to qualify for TESA approval; with 5 years career total Aviation maintenance experience.
Travel: As required in support of task order.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong leadership and communication skills; be adaptable, diversified and capable of troubleshooting engine system.
Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and associated systems principles to complete properly all probable work tasks.
Knowledge of Quality Control, Production and Supply procedures required to perform job assignment.
Able to determine when faulty systems or assemblies can be corrected through repair of replacement of new parts and the nature and extent of repair required.
Must have skill in reading, applying, and interpreting technical data.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
Must be immediately deployable to potential combat areas worldwide.
