The C-12 Army Aviation - Tool & Parts Attendant- Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in industrial establishment.

This incumbent receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment.

The Tools and Parts Attendant does the following keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers, searches for lost or misplaced tools, prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed, unpacks and stores new equipment; visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn- out equipment to superiors; may coat tools with grease or other preservative, using a brush or spray gun, and may attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool.

  • US Citizenship is Required to obtain the US Govt Secret Security Clearance and for facility and base access to the worksite.

  • Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in industrial establishment.

  • Keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers.

  • Searches for lost or misplaced tools.

  • Prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed.

  • Unpacks and stores new equipment.

  • Visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors.

  • May coat tools with grease or other preservative, using brush or spray gun.

  • May attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment, using electric marking tool.

  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is Required; specialized training schools relevant to job is desired.

  • A minimum of One (1) year of hands-on experience as an Aviation Tool and Parts Attendant is Required.

  • Color Vision Required; Must be able to distinguish color and judge three dimensional depths.

  • Must have minimum 20/100 near and far vision, correctable to 20/20.

  • Valid Driver's License is required. 

  • May be required to work and/or rotate for a multiple shift operation; Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance is required; US Citizenship is Required to obtain a US Govt Secret Clearance, and facility access.

Physical and Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for up to six hours per day and sit for up to two hours per day.

  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands.

  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. May be required to carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds.

  • Color Vision Required; Must be able to distinguish color and judge three dimensional depths.

  • Must have minimum 20/100 near and far vision, correctable to 20/20.

  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sounds.

  • May be required to lift up to 35 pounds to height of four feet and be required to lift up to 35 pounds to height of 7 feet.

  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales. Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print.

  • May be required to operate power, machinery, hand tools, etc.

  • Will be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure.

  • May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.

  • Personnel within this classification must be specialized in one or more of the following SCA Occupational Codes: 21210- Tools and Parts Attendant and 21210 Tool and Parts Attendant (FS-4002a rev. 9/01/06).
