ITER is a unique, first of a kind project that aims to demonstrate the technical and scientific feasibility of fusion energy. Amentum one of three partners making up the Consortium MOMENTUM (construction management-as- agent contractor) is project managing the construction and assembly of more than one million components in world’s largest fusion reactor. As construction management-as-agent contractor, MOMENTUM is managing the construction and assembly of the first full-scale test reactor to include balance of plant and the Tokomak itself. Amentum is recruiting a Commissioning Officer (F/H) to work on the ITER Project near Aix-en-Provence, France. 

Key duties and responsibilities

Support client international team for daily intervention, tackle site interfaces and organize work upon their request:

• Assist the team for their operational request (lifting, scaffolding, cleaning)

• Act as pivot contact for all operations managed by PBS52 in B15

• Manage all team requests related to site activities around ECH System (PBS52 Team)

Supervise or assist client international team during commissioning phase onsite and with

required documentation

• PTW/LOTO support dedicated to PBS52 Team during preparation phase

• Support the team to integrate their activities within global building coordination plan

• Organize PBS52 activities before, during & after completion

Ensure Health, Safety & environment compliance with French laws and regulations. Liaise with Project Team and subcontractors to ensure safe systems of work are implemented.

Directly reporting to LOTO Responsible Officer.

Continuous monitoring and carry out safety audits and inspection at the project sites including HSE systems and policy. Provide recommendations and monitor effectiveness of actions

Ensures through daily surveillance that the site is always in an optimum safe and operational state and teams under the PTW scheme are adhering to all principles and controls applied in permit.

Conducting field inspections to verify the detail and effectiveness of ITER rules application on site, particularly for operations managed by PBS52 Team.

Commissioning for industrial complex system including Electrical & Mechanical experience / skills or diploma.

Specific skills

French electrical training and certification mandatory

Managing processes within functional area in a compliant manner

Knowledge of site safety procedures in construction, test and commissioning

Electrical & I-C commissioning experiences

Mechanical commissioning experiences

General skills

Fluent in English (CMA/IO interfaces), and preferred French (Works contractors interfaces).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with creative solution and problem solving skills

Very organized and structured
