Amentum is seeking a Data Analyst I to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission on Andros Island, Bahamas. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Condenses, organizes and manages the range sensor data produced from tests.

  • Ensures data validity and performs reduction and analysis of data with the aid of specialized software applications.

  • Applies education and extensive on-the-job training to the interpretation, analysis and troubleshooting of the data.

  • Reviews test plans to determine data product and processing requirements and implements changes in the processing when necessary.

  • Interface with customers on matters concerning some aspects of test data processing.

  • Prepares final data product and submits for quality assurance review prior to release to customer.

  • Verification of software applications designed specifically for processing test data.

  • Sort, control, document, receive, and issue classified data received within Data Processing.

  • Ensure test package completion of all real time and post-test data items as required in the test plan, operations directive, or change request.

  • Proofread all receipts and review all data items prior to mailing or distributing to recipients.

  • Package and wrap all data items to be sent through U.S. postal system, express mail, shipboard rendezvous or courier and ensure packages meet security and handling regulations.

  • Partner with range users, NUWC personnel, program engineers, and other department personnel involved in test activities to ensure correct data issuance to their specifications and needs.

  • Prepare rendezvous data in a timely manner to avoid test delays.

  • Extract, issue and post all bathythermograph data.

  • Process and issue sound velocity profile data.

  • Responsible for the update of the Lost Weapons report.

  • Comply with records maintenance requirements.

  • Perform general clerical tasks as required.

  • This position will cover weekend, 1st and 2nd shifts as scheduled.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 0-1 years of relevant work experience.

  • BS/BA degree.

  • Cross-utilization as Data Control Clerk will be required.

  • Proficient user of Windows PC communications, word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills to create documents and validate data products.

  • Attention to detail required for data analysis, adherence to security requirements, review of test plans and for testing and certification of processing applications.

  • Self-starter for non-test related task assignments.

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Must be able to work extended hours that are test dependent, approximately 8-12 hours both day and night rotating shifts.

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

  • Functions well in a team-oriented work environment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.

  • Valid U.S. passport and driver's license will be required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Physical Science, Physics or Mathematics degree preferred.

  • Some data processing or other related scientific/real-time experience in the AUTEC environment preferred.

  • Experience handling classified materials and a working knowledge of security requirements and procedures preferred.

       

Compensation Details:

$29.00
