Purpose: The Director of Logistics (DOL)is directly responsible for the day-to-day planning required to ensure synchronization across all areas of Remote Maintenance Distribution Center – Ukraine (RDC-U) operation in Poland. The Director of Logistics is a key member of the senior management team which will establish policies and procedures based on vast knowledge of the contract and expertise in U.S. Army requirements, regulations, and systems. This individual possesses extensive supervisory, maintenance, supply, transportation, and personnel management experience. The Director of Logistics ensures that ISO-compliant quality policies are incorporated into all operational procedures and that high-quality services are delivered to the supported Units. This person has hands-on experience with U.S. Army Logistic Information Systems (LIS) and a deep grounding in operational security as driven by U.S. Army regulations. The Director of Logistics is responsible for the efficiency of the day-to-day business on site.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages daily operations at the assigned / performance RDC-U in Poland, schedule, and cost requirements established by the contract and guided by Amentum corporate policies and procedures. 

  • Uses classified (U.S. only) Information Technology (IT) systems, including LIS and Global Combat Support Systems-Army (GCSS-A), to manage maintenance and logistics projects. 

  • Develops and implements and reports on strategic and tactical policies, plans, and procedures, applying expertise in U.S.  Army maintenance, supply, and transportation organizations, requirements, and regulations. 

  • Works closely with the Government Site Lead, Contractor Project Manager and Deputy Manager to meet both steady-state and surge requirements, reallocating personnel and material resources as necessary throughout Europe. 

  • Ensures U.S. Army and Amentum, Inc. quality standards are incorporated into operational procedures and are met by the workforce at all sites. 

  • Ensures safety and environmental requirements are met in accordance with Federal (e.g. OSHA), U.S. Army, and local regulations 

  • Participates in risk planning and mitigation efforts in concert with International Donor Coordination Centre customers and Security Assistance Group – Ukraine (SAG-U)

  • Implements and enforces security procedures to protect personnel, property, and information 

  • Identifies potential opportunities and issues and determines optimal approaches to achieve efficiencies while preventing deficiencies. 

  • Services as conduit to share operational innovations and best practice across RDC-U 

  • Maintains ongoing communication with Amentum and Security Assistance Management Directorate (SAMD) regarding any issues related to requirements, resources, or Units. 

  • Consolidates the necessary data i.e. Equipment on Hand, Equipment Readiness Data, (Unclassified or Classified) to enable accurate deliverables to be submitted to International Donor Coordination Centre customers in a timely manner for Security Assistance Group – Ukraine (SAG-U) briefs. 

  • Maintains professional business relationships with internal and external customers, including any subcontractors and vendors, both U.S. and Poland.

  • Ensures strict compliance to safety practices and support the Safety Policies and Procedures.

  • Instills a safety-first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.

  • Adheres to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of Quality Management System.

  • Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

 

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Two (2) years’ job-related experience may be substituted for each year of education.

 

Experience:

  • Must have experience in technical, schedule, and financial management.

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Hands-on knowledge of LIS systems to include Logistics Modernization Program, Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-Army), and Unit Status Reporting (USR) is a plus.

Certification, License & Clearance:

  • Valid US Driver’s license is required.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a CAC, if required.

·       Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Tier 3 Secret US Government clearance. 

Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Tier 3 Secret clearance.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures

  • Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

  • When performing work, responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 

  • Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
